David Kordansky Gallery
David Kordansky Gallery is an art gallery established in Los Angeles's Chinatown neighborhood in 2003. History The gallery was founded by David Kordansky, a former conceptual and performance artist, in a space on Bernard Street in L.A.’s Chinatown neighborhood. In 2008, the gallery opened its main location in Culver City and, in 2014, expanded to Los Angeles's Mid-City district where it tripled its size to more than 20,000 square feet. The space was designed by architecture firm WHY and includes two large galleries as well as offices, a library and gardens. In 2022, the gallery opened a new space in New York City. David Kordansky Gallery has responded publicly to the Black Lives Matter movement and represents artists from diverse backgrounds. Shara Hughes
Shara Hughes (born 1981) is an American painter. Biography Hughes was born in 1981 in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and went on to study at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. She lives and works in Brooklyn. Exhibitions and collections In 2017 an entire room Hughes' work was in the 2017 Whitney Biennial. Her work is included in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Georgia as well as the Denver Art Museum, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Mary Weatherford (born 1963) is a Los Angeles-based painter. She is known for her large paintings incorporating neon lighting tubes. Mai-Thu Perret (born 1976 in Geneva) is a Swiss artist of Franco-Vietnamese origin.
