David Kinch
David Kinch (born April 4, 1961) is an American chef and restauranteur. He owns and operates Manresa, a restaurant in Los Gatos, California, which was awarded three Michelin stars in 2016. Kinch's California cuisine has strong French, Catalan and Japanese influences. Kinch opened a second restaurant in Los Gatos, called The Bywater, on January 12, 2016. Manresa has been named one of the World's 50 Best Restaurants by ''Restaurant Magazine'', was in America's Top 50 Restaurants by ''Gourmet'', and has received four stars from the ''San Francisco Chronicle''. He is also dean at the International Culinary Center, founded as the French Culinary Institute in 1984. ''The Mind of a Chef'' is a non-fiction television series on PBS narrated and executive produced by Anthony Bourdain, and combines travel, cooking, history, and science. Gabrielle Hamilton (born 1966) is an American chef and author. She is the chef and owner of Prune, a restaurant in New York City, and the author of ''Blood, Bones, and Butter'', a memoir. Early life and education Hamilton, born in 1966, was raised in New Hope, PA. In an interview with NPR, Hamilton said her way of eating and cooking was heavily influenced by her French mother. She said her mother didn't waste food and the family often foraged for fresh ingredients from their garden and from the forests and fields surrounding their house. Hamilton attended undergraduate at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA and received her MFA in creative writing from the University of Michigan. ''The Taste'' is an American cooking-themed reality competition series on ABC. It aired from January 22, 2013, through January 22, 2015. On May 7, 2015, ABC canceled ''The Taste'' after three seasons. Format ''The Taste'' season begins with blind auditions of both professional and amateur cooks during which four judges, who double as mentors, taste one spoonful of food from each contestant without knowing who cooked it or what all the ingredients were. André Hueston Mack is an American sommelier and winemaker. Career Mack worked for two years in the finance industry before transitioning into the restaurant industry. He started as a dishwasher at Darden Restaurants and left as a corporate service trainer after six years. He then worked at The Palm in San Antonio before working as the founding sommelier at Bohanan's in San Antonio. Le Bernardin
Le Bernardin is a French seafood restaurant in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. Gilbert Le Coze and his sister Maguy Le Coze started the restaurant in Paris in 1972, where it was called Les Moines de St. Bernardin. Saratoga is a city in Santa Clara County, California. Located in Silicon Valley, in the southern Bay Area, its population was 31,051 at the 2020 census.
