David Kemp (Australian Scientist)
David James Kemp OAM FAA (23 July 1945 – 22 November 2013) was an Australian plant geneticist and parasitologist. He spent most of his career at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI) conducting genetic research into the parasite that causes malaria, rising to become the head of the Immunoparasitology Unit at WEHI. In 2008, his services to medical research were recognized with the award of the Medal of the Order of Australia. Early life and education Kemp was born in Adelaide on 23 July 1945 to Albert and Marjorie Kemp. He had an older brother, Robert. His father, Albert, was a toolmaker in the engine department of the car maker General Motors Holden. During World War II, Albert had worked on the development of an Australian version of the Spitfire aeroplane. The family lived in the suburb of Woodville, which was then undeveloped and his house was set among paddocks. He attended Woodville Primary School and went on to Woodville High School. ...

David Kemp (born 10 April 1984) is an Australian former professional road bicycle racer who competed with the Belgian Veranda's Willems-Accent professional team in 2011, his final season. Kemp secured the contract at the last-minute, after the collapse of Chris White's ill-fated Pegasus Racing/Fly V project. David Kemp (physicist)
David Thomas Kemp, FRS (born 24 February 1945) is a British physicist who is a professor working at the UCL Ear Institute in London. He was educated at King's College London (BSc, 1966; AKC; PhD, 1970). He discovered the phenomenon of otoacoustic emission in July 1978 while working at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital. He founded a company that makes equipment to test for hearing defects by detecting otacoustic emission, which is absent in the ears of people suffering deafness caused by neural impairment. Because the method does not require any cooperation from the subject, it is valuable for detecting deafness in babies. David Kemp (politician)
David Alistair Kemp (born 14 October 1941) is a retired Australian politician. He was a Liberal member of the Australian House of Representatives from March 1990 to October 2004, representing the Division of Goldstein, Victoria. Early life and education Kemp was born in Melbourne, Victoria, and was educated at the University of Melbourne and Yale University, where he gained a doctoral degree in politics. He is the brother of Senator Rod Kemp, and the son of Charles Denton Kemp, founder of the Institute of Public Affairs. Career Kemp was Senior Lecturer in Political Science at the University of Melbourne 1975–79 and Professor of Politics at Monash University, Melbourne 1979–90. Dave Kemp
David Michael Kemp (born 20 February 1953) is an English former professional footballer and manager. He is currently assistant manager at Middlesbrough FC. Playing career Kemp began his career with Harrow Borough, subsequently playing for Maidenhead United and Slough Town before joining Crystal Palace in April 1975. He moved to Portsmouth in November 1976 and was their leading goalscorer in both the 1976–77 and 1977–78 seasons, despite not playing a full season for the club. A hugely popular player whilst at the club he even featured in Roy of the Rovers magazine photographed alongside his fictional goalscoring counterpart. During the time he played for Pompey, a song was sung in his honour, to the tune of ''Lily The Pink''. It is a song that is still sung today (2017).
