David K. Lovegren
David K. Lovegren is a film producer. After working on ''Fantasia/2000'' and the Direct-to-video feature ''The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea'' at The Walt Disney Company, Disney, he went to Manila, Philippines to start the independent film, independent animation studio ImagineAsia. The company was shut down after failing to attract business, but in January 2002 Lovegren hired back around twenty animators that had been employed there to work on the 2005 computer animated film, ''Hoodwinked!''. Along with fellow ''Hoodwinked!'' producer Sue Bea Montgomery, Lovegren formed a new animation studio for the film's production, based in a 5,000 square foot rented house in Manila. ''Hoodwinked!'' was the first independent computer animated film to be produced in the Philippines, and one of the first computer animated films to be completely independently funded. ''Fantasia 2000'' is a 1999 American Animated film, animated musical film, musical anthology film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Produced by Roy E. Disney and Donald W. Ernst, it is the List of Walt Disney Animation Studios films, 38th Disney animated feature film and sequel to 1940's ''Fantasia (1940 film), Fantasia''. Like its predecessor, ''Fantasia 2000'' consists of animated segments set to pieces of classical music. ''Return to the Sea'' is the first studio album by Islands. It was released by Equator Records on 4 April 2006. "Rough Gem" was released as a single from the album. The remastered version of the album was released on 11 November 2016. An animation studio is a company producing animated media. The broadest such companies conceive of products to produce, own the physical equipment for production, employ operators for that equipment, and hold a major stake in the sales or rentals of the media produced. Sue Bea Montgomery (born 1958) is an American film producer from Tulsa, Oklahoma. After serving as an associate producer on the 1999 Independent film '' Chillicothe'', she introduced the film's director Todd Edwards and his brother Cory Edwards to entrepreneur and inventor Maurice Kanbar, who had invested in the film. Kanbar agreed to finance the brothers to direct a computer animated film, based on a well known fairy tale, and they came up with '' Hoodwinked'', a unique retelling of ''Little Red Riding Hood''. To produce the film, Montgomery and Kanbar founded Kanbar Entertainment and Kanbar Animation in 2002.
