Berrenger's
''Berrenger's'' is an American prime-time soap opera television series created by Diana Gould that aired on NBC from January 5 to March 9, 1985. The series revolved around the Berrenger family, a New York dynasty which owned the glamorous department store which bore their name. Following in the tradition of ''Dynasty'' and ''Dallas'', ''Berrenger's'' played up to the familiar motifs of 1980s soap operas – glamorous and beautiful characters, using money and power in games of love, business and betrayal. After nearly 3 months on the air, the series was cancelled due to poor ratings, leaving one episode unaired. Development Produced in the mid-1980s, ''Berrenger's'' bore all the hallmarks of the genre and the era - a lavish central set (in this case, the department store's main floor, using the real-life location of Barneys in New York) and an expensive wardrobe budget, which dressed the cast, particularly the women, in current designer fashions. The series was made by Lor ...

''Lace'' is an American television two-part miniseries, based on the 1982 bonkbuster novel of the same name by author Shirley Conran. The series aired on ABC on February 26–27, 1984. The plot concerns the search by sex symbol Lili (Phoebe Cates) for her natural mother, who surrendered her for adoption as a newborn. ''Lace'' was one of the highest-rated television movies of the 1983–84 television season. Lili's line "Incidentally, which one of you bitches is my mother?", addressed to her three maternal candidates — Pagan Trelawney ( Brooke Adams), Judy Hale (Bess Armstrong) and Maxine Pascal ( Arielle Dombasle) — was named the best line in television history by ''TV Guide'' in its 1993 issue celebrating 40 years of television. Plot The story opens circa 1980 at an abandoned chateau in the Swiss Alps, once a prestigious boarding school, L'Hirondelle. Behind The Screen (TV Series)
''Behind the Screen'' is an American late-night weekly serial which aired on CBS (Fridays, 11:30 PM EST) from October 9, 1981 to January 8, 1982. Series overview ''Behind the Screen'' was created by David Jacobs (''Dallas'', ''Knots Landing'') for CBS, which wanted a late night counterpoint to ABC and NBC's more successful efforts in that timeslot. Drawing upon his experience with the prime-time serials, ''Behind the Screen'' was a dramatization of the goings-on at a fictional TV soap opera called ''Generations''. This was not the first attempt to explore the concept of a "soap within a soap" as radio soaps had used the idea as far as back as the 1940s (''A Woman To Remember''). ''Ryan's Hope'' had also done a similar storyline in the early 1980s. The show premiered as an hour-long special, and regular episodes were 30 minutes. It revolved around the beautiful young star of ''Generations'', Janie-Claire Willow (Janine Turner), who was a pawn in a power struggle between her wh ...

Aired on Saturday night at 10 pm EST/9 pm Central, the series never found an audience and was canceled after eight episodes.
