David Howland
David Howland (born 17 September 1986) is a Northern Irish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He scored 17 goals in 171 league and cup appearances in an eleven-year career in professional and semi-professional football in England and Northern Ireland. A Northern Ireland under-21 international, he started his career at Birmingham City. In January 2008, he was loaned out to Port Vale and joined the club permanently at the end of the season. He was released by Port Vale in the summer of 2010, at which point he signed with Glentoran. He helped the club win the Irish Cup in 2013 before he retired due to an injury in August 2016. Ballynahinch, County Down
Ballynahinch () is a town in County Down, Northern Ireland. It had a population of 5,703 people in the 2011 Census. Ballynahinch was traditionally a market town, although the market still takes place in the square every Thursday. The town lies on the main A24 road from Belfast to Clough, near Newcastle. In professional football, a transfer is the action taken whenever a player under contract moves between clubs. It refers to the transferring of a player's registration from one association football club to another. In general, the players can only be transferred during a transfer window and according to the rules set by a governing body (fulfilling the requirements of FIFA, continental and national bodies regulating the purchasing and selling clubs). A negotiated transfer fee is agreed financial compensation paid from an interested club, to the club that possesses the player's exclusive contracted playing rights. Dean Glover
Dean Victor Glover (born 29 December 1963) is an English former football player and manager. A cultured and stylish defender, he had the ball control skills of a midfielder. He played 457 league games in a seventeen-year career in the English Football League. He started his career at Aston Villa in 1980, before he moved on to Middlesbrough seven years later. He spent two seasons at "Boro", helping the club to promotion out of the Second Division via the play-offs in 1988, before he was sold on to Port Vale in February 1989 for £200,000. He spent nine years at Vale, becoming a club legend for his service. During that time he helped the club to win promotion out of the Third Division via the play-offs in 1989, and then out of the Second Division in 1993–94. 2008–09 Football League
The 2008–09 Football League (known as the Coca-Cola Football League for sponsorship reasons) was the 110th completed season of the Football League. It began in August 2008 and concluded in May 2009, with the promotion play-off finals. The Football League is contested through three Divisions: the Championship, League One and League Two. AFC Bournemouth () is a professional association football club based in Kings Park, Boscombe, a suburb of Bournemouth, Dorset, England. Kick-off (association Football)
A kick-off is the method of starting and, in some cases, restarting play in a game of association football. The rules concerning the kick-off are part of Law 8 of the Laws of the Game. Award A kick-off is used to start each half of play, and each period of extra time where applicable. The team that wins the pre-game coin toss may choose either * to take the initial kick-off (in which case the team losing the toss chooses which end of the pitch to attack in the first half), or * to choose which end of the pitch to attack in the first half (in which case the team losing the toss takes the initial kick-off).
