David Hirsch (television Personality)
David Hirsch (born 1962 in Detroit) is an American television personality. A graduate of Michigan State University, Hirsch spent time as a disc jockey and drummer. Dick Clark selected Hirsch to be the host of the 1989 (and final) season of '' American Bandstand''. Michigan State University (Michigan State, MSU) is a public university, public Land-grant university, land-grant research university in East Lansing, Michigan. Richard Wagstaff Clark (November 30, 1929April 18, 2012) was an American radio and television personality, television producer and film actor, as well as a cultural icon who remains best known for hosting ''American Bandstand'' from 1956 to 1989. He also hosted five incarnations of the Pyramid (game show), ''Pyramid'' game show from 1973 to 1988 and ''Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve'', which transmitted New Year's Eve celebrations in New York City's Times Square. As host of ''American Bandstand'', Clark introduced rock & roll to many Americans. ''American Bandstand'', abbreviated ''AB'', is an American music-performance and dance television program that aired in various versions from 1952 to 1989, and was hosted from 1956 until its final season by Dick Clark, who also served as the program's producer. It featured teenagers dancing to Top 40 music introduced by Clark; at least one popular musical act—over the decades, running the gamut from Jerry Lee Lewis to Run–D.M.C.—usually appeared in person to lip-sync one of their latest singles. ''Beach Clash'' is a game show that aired in syndication from September 19, 1994, through September 17, 1995. The show was hosted by David Hirsch and Alison Armitage. Teams of one male player, one female player, and two "hardbodies" competed in beach-themed events in an attempt to win the season's grand prize of $10,000 and a Hawaiian vacation.
