David Hess (baseball)
David James Hess (born July 10, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is currently a free agent. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Baltimore Orioles and Miami Marlins. Amateur career Hess played baseball at Tullahoma High School in Tullahoma, Tennessee. As a senior, he had a 8–1 win–loss record with a 1.91 earned run average (ERA) along with batting .393 with eight home runs. After high school, he enrolled at Tennessee Technological University and played college baseball for the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles. In 2014, his junior year, he pitched to a 9-3 record with a 3.24 ERA in 16 starts. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. Brandon Hyde
Brandon Michael Hyde (born October 3, 1973) is an American professional baseball manager for the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball (MLB). Hyde had previously served as the bench coach, director of player development, and first base coach for the Chicago Cubs, and as a bench coach and interim manager for the Florida Marlins. Playing career Hyde graduated from Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa, California, in 1992. He attended Santa Rosa Junior College and California State University, Long Beach, and played college baseball for the Long Beach State Dirtbags. Hyde signed with the Chicago White Sox as an undrafted free agent in 1997. He played in the White Sox organization through 2000, reaching the Charlotte Knights of the Class AAA International League. 2019 Baltimore Orioles Season
The 2019 Baltimore Orioles season was the 119th season in Baltimore Orioles franchise history, 66th in Baltimore, and the 28th at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The Orioles were managed by Brandon Hyde in his first season as Orioles manager. They finished 54–108, 7 games better than their disastrous 47–115 record from their 2018 season, but they missed the playoffs for a third straight season, as they were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention on August 23. Bowie Baysox
The Bowie Baysox are a Minor League Baseball team located in Bowie, Maryland. They are the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, and play in the Eastern League. Their home ballpark is Prince George's Stadium. History From 1989 to 1992, the Orioles' Double-A affiliate was located in Hagerstown, Maryland and called the Suns. Frederick Keys
The Frederick Keys are a collegiate summer baseball team of the MLB Draft League. The Keys are based in Frederick, Maryland. The franchise is named for "Star-Spangled Banner" writer Francis Scott Key, a native of Frederick County. A new team mascot "Frank Key", short for Francis Scott Key, joined the current mascot, a coyote named ''Keyote'', at the beginning of the 2011 baseball season. The Delmarva Shorebirds are a Minor League Baseball team based in Salisbury, Maryland. They are members of the Carolina League and the Single-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. The Aberdeen IronBirds are a Minor League Baseball team based in the city of Aberdeen in Harford County, Maryland. They are the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles and compete in the South Atlantic League. They were previously members of the New York–Penn League from 1977 to 2020, and of the High-A East in 2021.
