David Hamilton (photographer)
David Hamilton (15 April 1933 – 25 November 2016) was a British photographer and film director best known for his photography of young women and girls, mostly in the nude. His signature soft focus style was called the "Hamilton Blur", which was erroneously thought to be achieved by smearing Vaseline on the lens of his camera. It was not created that way. Hamilton's images became part of an "art or pornography" debate. In October 2016, French presenter Flavie Flament accused him of raping her in 1987, when she was 13 years old. In November 2016, French magazine ''L'Obs'' published anonymous accounts from three other former models affirmed to have been raped by Hamilton. Hamilton issued a statement threatening legal action against his accusers and claimed that he did not do anything wrong. Asphyxiation
Asphyxia or asphyxiation is a condition of deficient supply of oxygen to the body which arises from abnormal breathing. Asphyxia causes generalized hypoxia, which affects primarily the tissues and organs. There are many circumstances that can induce asphyxia, all of which are characterized by the inability of a person to acquire sufficient oxygen through breathing for an extended period of time. Asphyxia can cause coma or death. In 2015, about 9.8 million cases of unintentional suffocation occurred which resulted in 35,600 deaths. Euan Duff
Euan Duff is a photographer and photo-journalist, born in 1939 to the political activist Peggy Duff and her husband Bill, a journalist who died in the latter stages of the Second World War. He freelanced as a photo-journalist in London during the 1960s and then went into teaching, finally setting up and running the first degree course in photography offered by Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham, before taking early retirement in 1990. He published ''How We Are'' (Allen Lane, 1971) and ''Workless'' (with text by Dennis Marsden, Penguin, 1975), and exhibited at the ICA in London in 1971. Thierry Ardisson
Thierry Ardisson (; born 6 January 1949, Bourganeuf, Creuse), is a French television producer and host and a movie producer. Many of his shows have some of the longest run times on French television, such as ''Paris Dernière'', ''Tout le monde en parle'', and ''On a tout essayé.'' ''Still Time'' is a 1994 photography book by Sally Mann. The book is published by Aperture (magazine), Aperture and was released alongside Mann's exhibition for the photographs. The book consists of 60 CMYK color model, four-color and duotone images of landscapes as well as abstract photography and images of Mann's children, some of which have been collected from her previous book, ''Immediate Family (book), Immediate Family''. The cover image is a photograph of Mann's 7 year old daughter Jessie, who is pictured topless with her breasts covered by nightblooming cereus. The book opens with a quote from Eric Ormsby's ''Childhood House'', and images focus on the theme of the passing of time. The book is not to be confused with the 1988 catalogue of the same name, also by Sally Mann. ''The Age of Innocence'' is a 1995 photography and poetry book by David Hamilton. The book contains images of early-teen girls, often nude, accompanied by lyrical poetry. Images are in a boudoir setting and photographed mainly in colour using a soft-focus filter, with some shots in black-and-white. Reception The book is one of Hamilton's most popular titles. According to the ''Los Angeles Times'', the book's images are "thought by thousands of critics and consumers to be socially acceptable, even wonderful." Likewise ''The New York Times'' stated the book received critical praise. Outside of art critics however the book has been criticised. John Sturges (; born 1947), known as Jock Sturges, is an American photographer, best known for his images of nude Adolescence, adolescents and their families. Sturges pled guilty in 2021 at Franklin County (MA) Superior Court to an unnatural and lascivious act with a child under 16. Early life and education Sturges was born in 1947 in New York. From 1966 to 1970, he served in the United States Navy as a Russian linguist. He graduated with a BFA in Perceptual psychology and Photography from Marlboro College and received an MFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute. Sally Mann HonFRPS (born Sally Turner Munger; May 1, 1951) is an American photographer who has made large format black and white photographs—at first of her young children, then later of landscapes suggesting decay and death. Early life and education Born in Lexington, Virginia, Mann was the third of three children. Her father, Robert S. Munger, was a general practitioner, and her mother, Elizabeth Evans Munger, ran the bookstore at Washington and Lee University in Lexington. Mann was raised by an atheist and compassionate father who allowed Mann to be "benignly neglected".
