David Greenwood (American Football)
David Mark Greenwood (born March 25, 1960 in Park Falls, Wisconsin) is a former American football safety who played three seasons in the National Football League. Considered by many to be the greatest high school athlete in the history of Wisconsin, Greenwood excelled in track and basketball as well as football in high school. He still holds the Wisconsin prep high jump record (7'2") He went on to become a four-year starter at both safety and punter for the Wisconsin Badgers. Previously, he played in the United States Football League also as a punter for the Michigan Panthers and the Oakland Invaders. Before joining the USFL, he was expected to be a 1st-round-quality NFL draft pick, a strong hitter and blitzer who performed poorly at man-to-man coverage. He played in all 16 games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1985, starting 10, but was cut early in training camp the next year due to inconsistency. Park Falls, Wisconsin
Park Falls is a city in Price County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,462 at the 2010 census. Located in the woods of north central Wisconsin, primarily the Chequamegon National Forest, Park Falls is a small community divided by the North Fork of the Flambeau River, a popular destination for fishing, canoeing and whitewater rafting. History The city began in the late 19th century as a small river village called Muskellunge Falls. 1985 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Season
The 1985 Tampa Bay Buccaneers season was the franchise's ninth season in the National Football League, the ninth playing their home games at Tampa Stadium and the first season under head coach Leeman Bennett. The team failed to improve on a 6–10 season, once again finishing at 2–14, the same as in 1983. In week 1, Tampa Bay held a 28–17 halftime lead over the eventual Super Bowl winning Chicago Bears. In fact, both games against the Bears provided Tampa Bay halftime leads. Steve Young won his first start against the Detroit Lions before the losses started to pile on, including playing in a foot of snow in Green Bay. The Buccaneers failed to improve on their 6–10 record, and finished 2–14, the worst in the NFL.
