David Giralt
David Erundino Giralt Agramonte (28 June 1959 – 13 April 2020) was a Cuban long jumper. His personal best jump was 8.22 metres, achieved in August 1979 in Montreal. He achieved that mark at the World Cup, and went on to represent Cuba at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow, Russia. The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad". The Universiade is referred to in English as the World University Games or World Student Games; however, this latter term can also refer to competitions for sub-University grades students. In July 2020 as part of a new branding system by the FISU, it was stated that the Universiade will be officially branded as the FISU World University Games.
