David Foster (writer)
David Foster is an American television writer, producer and medical doctor best known for working as a writer/producer on the Fox medical drama series '' House''. Medical career Foster graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1995. He attended school with Neal Baer, a pediatrician who would eventually become the executive producer of '' Law & Order: Special Victims Unit''. As a doctor he worked at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Harvard School of Public Health listening to patient's stories and diagnose uncommon illnesses, a skill which he would later utilize as a writer on ''House''. Television career Foster would eventually move into television writing through Neal Baer, who hired him to freelance-write an episode of ''Law & Order: SVU'' entitled "Parts". DNR (House)
The first season of ''House'' premiered November 16, 2004, and ended May 24, 2005. The season follows Dr. Gregory House and his team as they solve a medical case each episode. The season's sub-plot revolves around billionaire Edward Vogler making a $100 million donation to the hospital. Through this donation, Vogler becomes the new chairman of the board and orders House to fire one of his team members. Vogler does this to show House he can control him: "I need to know that whatever I ask you to do, however distasteful you find it, you'll do it". Chi McBride joined the cast as Vogler in five episodes of the season. His character was brought in after Universal Studios president Jeff Zucker threatened that the season would be cut short by six episodes if a "boss" character wasn't added. Wilson's Heart (House)
"Wilson's Heart" is the sixteenth episode and season finale of the fourth season of ''House'' and the eighty-sixth episode overall. It aired on May 19, 2008, on Fox. It is the second and final part of the two-part fourth season finale, the first part being "House's Head". Plot In the second part of the two-part season finale, House remains affected by injuries sustained in a bus crash that has also left Amber Volakis rapidly deteriorating from a mysterious condition. Garrett Lerner is an American television writer and producer who served as an executive producer on the Fox series ''House''. He often works with his writing partner Russel Friend. Peter Blake is an American lawyer, screenwriter and television producer for such shows as ''The Practice'' and '' House, MD''. Early life Blake, the grandson and nephew, respectively, of the writers Phyllis McGinley and Julie Hayden, was raised in New York City and attended The Collegiate School. "House's Head" is the fifteenth episode of the fourth season of '' House'' and the eighty-fifth episode overall. It was the first part of the two-part season four finale, the second part being " Wilson's Heart". Co-written by several ''House'' producers and directed by Greg Yaitanes, "House's Head" premiered on May 12, 2008 on Fox. The episode revolves around Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie), who, after being involved in a bus accident, vaguely remembers seeing someone who is "going to die". House tries to trace back his steps throughout the episode to find out the identity of this person. A woman (Ivana Miličević), who claims to be "the answer", guides House through hallucinations about the crash. "Mirror Mirror" is the fifth episode of the fourth season of ''House'' and the seventy-fifth episode overall. It aired on October 30, 2007. Plot Medicine House's team gets a patient (Frank Whaley) with breathing problems with no apparent cause. He was just robbed and does not have I.D. on him, and they do not have his past medical records. Foreman suggests it might be a result of a vocal cord spasm, and they give him methacholine which would worsen it and thus provide a diagnosis. The patient complains of additional symptoms, and Foreman determines that he is faking them. His alleged symptoms are the same as those of other patients, and the name he gave them was the same as the paramedic. Informed Consent (House)
"Informed Consent" is the third episode of the third season of '' House'' and the forty-ninth episode overall. Plot House's ketamine treatment has worn off, which means he has to resort to the use of his cane as a walking aid. He has to diagnose Dr. Ezra Powell (played by Joel Grey), a 71-year-old renowned pioneer in the field of medical research who collapsed while studying cancer in lab rats. House puts Powell through diagnostic rigors, but the team is unable to come up with a conclusive diagnosis, and Powell's health continues to deteriorate. Becoming increasingly debilitated, Powell ultimately demands that the team stop the litany of medical tests and euthanize him. House strikes a deal with him and asks for one day to do tests on him. When House fails to diagnose Powell in one day, he visits him in his room to give him a lethal morphine dose. "All In" is the seventeenth episode of the second season of ''House'', which premiered on Fox on April 11, 2006. Plot During a field trip in a museum exhibit about the human body, 6-year old Ian Alston is found to have bloody diarrhea.
