David Fleming (cricketer)
David Fleming (born 7 April 1964) is a Scottish former cricketer. Fleming was born at Broxburn in April 1964. He was educated at the Linlithgow Academy. A club cricketer for West Lothian Cricket Club, he made his debut for Scotland as a wicket-keeper in a first-class match against Ireland at Glasgow in 1986. Broxburn ( gd, Srath Bhroc, IPA: ˆs̪ɾaˈvɾɔʰk is a town in West Lothian, Scotland, on the A89 road, from the West End of Edinburgh, from Edinburgh Airport and to the north of Livingston. Etymology The name Broxburn is a corruption of "brock's burn", brock being an old Scots name for a badger whether from the Gaelic ''broc'' or the Pictish/Welsh/Brythonic ''Broch'' and burn being a Scots word for a large stream or small river. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. Boghall Cricket Club Ground
Boghall Cricket Club Ground is a cricket ground in Linlithgow, Scotland. The first recorded match held on the ground came in 1969 when West Lothian played Edinburgh Academicals. Between 1995 and 1998 the ground hosted a number of touring teams in minor matches, which included matches against the Netherlands, Denmark and the touring Bangladeshis. The ground held its first first-class match when Scotland played against Ireland in 1996. Two further first-class matches were played there, one in 1998 when Scotland played Australia A, and another in 1999 when Scotland played South Africa Academy. The ground held its first List A match when Scotland played Yorkshire in the 1998 Benson & Hedges Cup. Glamorgan County Cricket Club ( cy, Criced Morgannwg) is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Glamorgan ( cy, Morgannwg). Founded in 1888, Glamorgan held minor status at first and was a prominent member of the early Minor Counties Championship before the First World War. In 1921, the club joined the County Championship and the team was elevated to first-class status, subsequently playing in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England and Wales. Titwood
Titwood is a cricket ground in the Pollokshields area of Glasgow, Scotland. It is the home of the Clydesdale Cricket Club and is one of four international grounds in Scotland approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as a home venue for the Scotland national cricket team. Titwood was approved by the ICC in May 2007 for the hosting of One-Day International (ODI) matches. It became the fourth Scottish ground to be granted ODI status, as it was seen as a hub of cricket in Scotland, along with the Grange, Aberdeenshire's Mannofield and Ayr's New Cambusdoon.
