Dave Dahl (born January 12, 1963) is an American entrepreneur, known for co-founding Dave's Killer Bread. Prior to founding the company, he had served a total of over 15 years in prison for multiple offenses including, but not limited to, drug distribution, burglary, armed robbery, and assault. Early life and career Dave Dahl was born in Portland, Oregon. At the age of 9, Dahl began working at the family bakery which was founded by his father James A. "Jim" Dahl in 1955. Dave often fought with his father because he did not like working there and began smoking cigarettes and using other drugs in his teens. He dropped out of high school in 1980. In 1987, Dahl was incarcerated for the first time after burglarizing a house. He rejoined the bakery in 1989 after accepting a job offer from his brother Glenn before quitting again and moving to Massachusetts, where he served more time in prison for armed robbery. David Martin Dahl (born April 1, 1994) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the San Diego Padres organization. He was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the first round of the 2012 MLB draft out of Oak Mountain High School in Birmingham, Alabama. Dahl made his major league debut with the Rockies on July 25, 2016, and was an All-Star in 2019. He also previously played for the Texas Rangers. Amateur career Dahl attended Oak Mountain High School in Birmingham, Alabama. As a freshman, he made the school's varsity baseball team as a shortstop. In 2011, Dahl was selected to play for the United States 18-and-under national baseball team, and appeared in the 2011 Pan American Games. Dahl recorded 11 runs batted in (RBIs) during the 15 games of the tournament, in which the United States won the gold medal. Dave Dahl is a meteorologist who used to work for KSTP-TV in Minnesota. Personal life and history Dahl was born and raised in Minnesota. He first became interested in studying the weather when he witnessed several tornados as a child in Circle Pines. He is a 1972 graduate of Centennial High School He received his bachelor's degree in meteorology from Florida State University. Dahl has given presentations about meteorology to students in Minnesota and Wisconsin for the past 25 years. Career Dahl began working for KSTP-TV on July 29, 1977, as a production assistant/meteorologist for the weather department as the station had eight others in what was dubbed by the station as "The Largest Television Weather Service in the World."
