David Coleman
David Robert Coleman OBE (26 April 1926 – 21 December 2013) was a British sports commentator and television presenter who worked for the BBC for 46 years. He covered eleven Summer Olympic Games from 1960 to 2000 and six FIFA World Cups from 1962 to 1982. Coleman presented some of the BBC's leading sporting programmes, including ''Grandstand'' and ''Sportsnight'' (originally titled ''Sportsnight with Coleman'' until 1972), and was the host of ''A Question of Sport'' for 18 years. He retired from the BBC in 2000. Later that year he became the first broadcaster to receive the Olympic Order award, in recognition of his contribution to the Olympic movement. David Bernard Coleman (born 5 March 1974) is an Australian politician. He is a member of the Liberal Party and was elected to the House of Representatives at the 2013 federal election, holding the New South Wales seat of Banks. Coleman served as the Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention from December 2020 until May 2022. He previously served as Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs in the Morrison Government from August 2018, although in December 2019 he took indefinite leave for personal reasons. David Anwyll Coleman (born 1946) is a demographer and anthropologist who served as the Professor of Demography at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention, University of Oxford from October 2002 until 2013, and a lecturer since 1980. David Houston Coleman (8 April 1967 – May 1997) was an English footballer who played in the Football League as a defender for AFC Bournemouth and appeared on loan for Colchester United. Career Coleman was born in Salisbury, and began his career with AFC Bournemouth after coming through the youth ranks with the club. He made 50 appearances for the Cherries and scored two goals. David William Coleman (1881 – 13 March 1951) was a New Zealand politician of the Labour Party. Biography Early life He was born in London in 1881, and lived as a child and young man in Queensland. He worked as a carpenter and later as a furniture salesman. He joined the local debating society and maintained an interest in the vocation for the rest of his life. David Robert Coleman (born 1969, London) is a British conductor and composer. Biography David Robert Coleman was born in 1969 into an English-German family in London. After studies at the Royal College of Music Junior Department, he studied music at King's College, Cambridge (MA) and returned to the Royal College of Music as a postgraduate, where he studied conducting with Christopher Adey and Edwin Roxburgh. Dave Coleman (baseball Coach)
John D. Coleman (born 1943) is a member of the Northeastern University athletics Hall of Fame. Coleman was inducted in 1981 for excellence in baseball. Coleman is also well known for his 37 years as the head baseball coach at Boston Latin. Coleman was a defensive specialist as a catcher for the Northeastern Huskies as well as being a respected hitter. Coleman helped to lead the Huskies to the NCAA District I playoffs versus Maine at Fenway Park. The Baltimore Orioles drafted Coleman in the first college draft in 1965. Coleman advanced to the Triple A with the Rochester Red Wings but never was able to crack the majors. After retiring Coleman headed to Boston Latin where he coached both baseball and hockey at the high school.
