David Brydon
David Andrew Brydon (born 27 June 1996) is a New Zealand field hockey player, who plays as a defender. Personal life David Brydon was born in Christchurch, New Zealand. He currently lives in Auckland, New Zealand. Career National teams Under-21 Brydon debuted for the New Zealand U-21 team in 2016 at the Junior Oceania Cup on the Gold Coast. Later that year he went on to represent the team at the Sultan of Johor Cup in Johor Bahru and the FIH Junior World Cup in Lucknow. Black Sticks Following his debut with the junior national team, David Brydon made his senior international debut with the Black Sticks in late 2016, at the Trans–Tasman Trophy in Auckland. Men's FIH Pro League
The Men's FIH Pro League is an international men's field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH), which replaces the Men's FIH Hockey World League. The competition also serves as a qualifier for the Hockey World Cup and the Field hockey at the Summer Olympics, Olympic Games. The first edition started in 2019. Nine teams secured their places for four years. Format Nine men's and women's teams compete in a round-robin tournament with home and away matches, played from October to June, with the top team at the end of the season winning the league. From 2021–22 Men's FIH Pro League, 2021-22 onwards, the bottom team at the end of the season will be relegated and will be replaced by the winner of a new competition called the Men's FIH Nations Cup. 2019 Men's FIH Pro League
The 2019 Men's FIH Pro League was the first season of the Pro League, the premier men's field hockey national team league series. The tournament started in January 2019 and finished in June 2019 in Amstelveen, Netherlands. Australia defeated Belgium 3–2 in the final to win the first FIH Pro League title. The competition also served as a qualifier for the 2020 Summer Olympics with the four best teams qualifying for the FIH Olympic Qualifiers taking place in October and November 2019. Qualification Nine teams competed in a round-robin tournament with home and away matches, played from January to June, with the top four teams advancing to the final at the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands. The 2016 Trans-Tasman Trophy was a field hockey tournament contested by men's and women's field hockey teams from Australia and New Zealand. The tournament was held in the New Zealand city of Auckland, at the Lloyd Elsmore Hockey Stadium.
