David Bolton (Australian Footballer)
David Bolton (born 13 July 1960) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Geelong Football Club, Geelong and Sydney Swans, Sydney in the Australian Football League, Victorian/Australian Football League (VFL/AFL). A Geelong Under-19s player, Bolton was recruited to Woodville Football Club, Woodville by coach Rodney Olsson and he performed well in his three years at the club. Bolton, who played as a wingman, joined Geelong in 1984 and made his debut in the opening game of the season. Sydney acquired his services in 1986, the same year he represented Australia in the 1986 International Rules series, International Rules series against the touring Irish team. He was a member of the Sydney squad which placed second in the 1986 VFL season, 1986 home and away season, only to fall away in the finals. The Grovedale Tigers Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Tigers'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the residential suburb of Grovedale, Victoria. Woodville Football Club was an Australian rules football club that competed in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) from 1964 to 1990, when it merged in 1991 with the West Torrens Football Club to form the Woodville-West Torrens Eagles. Based in the western suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia, Woodville derived its name from the suburb it was located in.
