David Bernhardt (ice Hockey)
David Bernhardt (born 1 December 1997) is a Sweden, Swedish professional ice hockey Defenceman, defenseman. He is currently playing with the Modo Hockey of the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan (Allsv). Bernhardt was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the seventh round (199th overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Bernhardt made his Swedish Hockey League debut playing with Djurgårdens IF Hockey, Djurgårdens IF during the 2016–17 SHL season. On 26 November 2016, he agreed to an additional one-year contract extension until 2018 with Djurgården. During the 2018–19 SHL season, 2018–19 season, having tallied just 1 assist in 16 games in the final year of his contract with Djurgårdens IF, Bernhardt was released and signed by rival club, Växjö Lakers, to a new three-year contract on 4 January 2019. Modo Hockey (or MoDo with uppercase letters) is a professional ice hockey club in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. The team plays in Sweden's second-tier league HockeyAllsvenskan. The club was founded in 1987 and has won one SHL championships; in 2007. The team's home arena since 2006 is the Hägglunds Arena (previously known as ''Fjällräven Center'' and ''Swedbank Arena''). Before then, the team played at Kempehallen, beginning in 1964. History Alfredshems IK and Modo AIK (1921–87) The club was founded on 27 March 1921 as Alfredshems IK, however it existed without an ice hockey program until 1938. Twenty years later, in 1958, the club joined Hockeyallsvenskan, Sweden's highest division at the time. Alfredshems IK played under that name until 1963, when it was renamed Modo AIK after their main sponsor, industrial corporation Mo och Domsjö AB (commonly abbreviated MoDo).
