David Michael John Bennett AC, KC (born 22 December 1941) is an Australian barrister and former Solicitor-General of Australia.Who's Who in Australia: David Bennett Early years Bennett was born in Amersham, Buckinghamshire to Louis Bennett and Lily Bennett (née Black). He was educated at the Hall School in Hampstead, then moved with his family to Australia in 1951 and attended the Scots College, Sydney. He subsequently attained degrees in Arts and Law (with honours) from the University of Sydney and an LLM and SJD from Harvard Law School. His father, Louis Bennett, was a distinguished solicitor in Sydney, and as a Provost Major was in charge of the escort that took the Nazi '' Oberkommando der Wehrmacht'' to Nuremberg for trial. Dave Bennett (hurler)
Dave Bennett (born 1977) is an Irish hurler who played as a midfielder for the Waterford senior team. Bennett joined the team during the 1994-95 National League and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 2008 championship. During that time he won three Munster winners' medals. Bennett ended up as an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. At club level Bennett is a one-time county championship medalist with Lismore. Playing career Club Bennett plays his club hurling with the Lismore club in Waterford and has enjoyed some success. After enjoying many victories in various juvenile and under-age grades, Bennett broke onto the senior team as seventeen-year-old. In 1993 he won a county club championship medal following a narrow 0-8 to 0-7 defeat of Passage. ''Discworld MUD'' is a popular MUD, a text-based online role-playing game, set in the Discworld as depicted in the ''Discworld'' series of books by Terry Pratchett. History The MUD was founded in 1991 and opened to the public in 1992 (receiving continuous updates since then, now thirty years later).
