David Michael Bates (born 1952) is an American artist. He is based in Dallas and is known for his Texas-themed paintings, prints, and sculptures. Biography David Michael Bates was born in 1952 in Dallas, Texas. He received a BFA degree in 1975 from Southern Methodist University, and an MFA degree in 1978 from the same institution. He is best known for his paintings of the Grassy Lakes region of Faulkner County, Arkansas, and the Gulf Coast. Irene Pijoan (1953 – 2004) was a Swiss-born American painter, sculptor, and educator. She was active in the San Francisco Bay Area and taught at the San Francisco Art Institute for more than 20 years. Early life and education Irene Pijoan was born on November 11, 1953 in Lausanne, Switzerland to parents Geneviève Bugnion and .
