David Auradou
David Auradou (born 13 November 1973 in Harfleur, Seine-Maritime) is a French former rugby union footballer. He last played for Paris club Stade Français, where he was the captain, in the ''élite'' Top 14. His usual position was at lock. Career Auradou was part of the Stade Français team that won the Coupe de France in 1999, when they beat CS Bourgoin-Jallieu 27–19 at Saint-Etienne. The following season his club also featured in the final of the French championship, in which they won, defeating the US Colomiers 28–23 at Stade de France. The club went on to feature in the final of the 2000–01 Heineken Cup, but were defeated by the Leicester Tigers. The following year he made his international debut for France during the 2002 Six Nations Championship, in the 33–12 win over Italy in Paris. Lock (rugby Union)
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. Players that play multiple positions are called "utility players". Forwards compete for the ball in scrums and Line-out (rugby union), line-outs and are generally bigger and stronger than the backs. Props push in the scrums, while the hooker tries to secure the ball for their team by "hooking" it back with their heel. Union Sportive Arlequins Perpignanais, also referred to as USA Perpignan or Perpignan, is a French professional rugby union club founded in 1933 and based in Perpignan, in the Pyrénées-Orientales department. 2006–07 Top 14 Season
The 2006–07 Top 14 competition was the 108th French domestic rugby union club competition operated by the Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR) and the 2nd using the name Top 14. Biarritz were out to defend their crown, after their defeat of Toulouse in the 2005–06 Top 14 final. New teams to the league included Albi and Montauban who were promoted from 2004–05 Pro D2, replacing relegated sides Toulon and Pau. During the season attendance records in the league were once again broken with 79,741 attending the Round 19 clash between Stade Français and Toulouse at the Stade de France, and over 2 million supporters attended games across the campaign. In the league Stade Français jumped out to an early lead, winning their first nine matches. Although they faded somewhat as the season went on, they held on to top the regular-season ladder. 1999–2000 French Rugby Union Championship
The 1999–2000 French Rugby Union Championship was played by 24 teams divided in the preliminary phase in two pool of 12. The first two team of each pool were directly admitted to the quarter-finals. The team classified from 3rd to 6th of each pool were admitted to a Barrage round. The four winners were admitted also to the quarter of finals. Stade Français won the title beating in the final the Colomiers (at the first final of their history). It was the second victory for the Stade Français in the professional era. Ath the end of the season four team were relegated to lower division: Montauban, Toulon, Racing Paris, Nîmes.
