Dave Parsons
David Guy Parsons (born 1964) is a British rock musician who is best known as the original bassist for English grunge band Bush. Life and career Before joining the grunge band Bush, was a member of punk band The Partisans, and alternative rock band Transvision Vamp. Parsons met up in 1992 with lead singer and guitarist, Gavin Rossdale, guitarist Nigel Pulsford, and bassist Robin Goodridge to form Bush. He stayed with the band until their breakup in 2002. When Bush reformed in 2010, Parsons decided not to rejoin. Personal life Parsons has been in a relationship with girlfriend Sarah Chope since 1994. Robin Goodridge
Bush are an English rock band formed in London, England in 1992. Their current lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Gavin Rossdale, lead guitarist Chris Traynor, bassist Corey Britz, and drummer Nik Hughes. In 1994, Bush found immediate success outside the UK with the release of their debut album, ''Sixteen Stone'', which is certified six times multi-platinum by the RIAA. They went on to become one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the 1990s, selling over ten million records in the United States and 20 million records worldwide. Despite their success in the US (especially in the mid-1990s), the band were considerably less popular in their home country and they have enjoyed only marginal success there. ''Golden State'' is the fourth studio album by the British rock band Bush, released on 23 October 2001 through Atlantic Records. It is the last Bush album to feature Nigel Pulsford and Dave Parsons on guitar and bass, respectively. Bush would not release another studio album again until ten years later with '' The Sea of Memories''. The liner notes of ''Golden State'' cite the album in memory of Ian Lowery, founder of Folk Devils. In the documentary ''Making Of Golden State'', the title is revealed as being inspired by the Golden State Freeway, which Gavin Rossdale used to use to get home. Production When asked by ''Rolling Stone'' reporter Christina Saraceno what the band was trying to achieve with ''Golden State'', Rossdale replied: Rossdale also mentioned in an ''NY Rock'' interview that people would often have the clichéd idea that he is a dark, depressed person. It is the last Bush album released through Trauma and features many electronic music influences. Background In 1998, Gavin Rossdale retreated to a countryside house in Ireland to write demos for a new Bush album. The album was recorded over a span of 4 weeks, at a variety of locations including lead guitarist Nigel Pulsford's home and Mayfair Studios in London. ''Deconstructed'' is a remix album by British band Bush, released on 11 November 1997, through Trauma Records. It did not feature any new material but was a collaborative effort between the band and various producers working in the electronic genre of music to remix some of the band's previously released songs. " Mouth (The Stingray Mix)" was released as a single in 1997 and became a minor hit, due largely in part to it being featured prominently in both the trailer and the 1997 film ''An American Werewolf in Paris''. ''Razorblade Suitcase'' is the second studio album by English rock band Bush, released on 19 November 1996 by Trauma and Interscope Records. The follow-up to their 1994 debut ''Sixteen Stone'', it was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London with engineer and producer Steve Albini. Its sound is more raw than that of its predecessor and has frequently been compared to Nirvana's ''In Utero'' (1993), which was also produced and engineered by Albini. The album is widely considered to be the last "grunge" sounding album of the 1990s. ''Little Magnets Versus the Bubble of Babble'' is the third and final album by UK pop rock band Transvision Vamp. The album was released in 1991, two years after their UK No. 1 album ''Velveteen''. This album did not get a UK release at the time due to disputes with their label. ''Little Magnets Versus the Bubble of Babble'' took on a more mellow sound, which was the reason that their record company at one stage refused to release it – it was eventually released in the US but not in the UK at the time.
