David Wiley Mullins
David Wiley Mullins (born August 11, 1906 in Ash Flat, Arkansas, died September 22, 1987) was an American academic. He was the president of University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas from 1960 to 1974, the second longest serving president. Early life and education Mullins was born August 11, 1906, in Ash Flat, Arkansas, to Roscoe C. and Emma Matilda Mullins. He attended University of Arkansas, graduating cum laude in 1931. In 1934, he earned a master's degree from the University of Colorado. He received his doctoral degree from Columbia University in 1941. Career Began his teaching career during the Great Depression as a high school teacher in the small rural town of Lepanto, Arkansas, where he also as the superintendent of schools. He later became the chair of the department of educational administration for Alabama Polytechnic Institute, which would later become Auburn University. David Mullins (jockey)
David James Mullins (born 6 June 1996) is a former National Hunt jockey. He is the son of Tom Mullins and grandson of Paddy Mullins. He was one of the retained jockeys for his uncle, the multiple Irish champion trainer Willie Mullins. Career Mullins became involved with horse racing at the age of 15 and quickly gained fame in only his second year of riding at 19 years old when he was still claiming a 3 pounds allowance as a conditional jockey. In that first part of the 2015/16 National Hunt campaign he recorded his first major successes for his uncle Willie Mullins, initially winning a Grade 2 event on board of Devis Bride. Shortly after that he obtained his first Grade 1 victory when taking the Morgiana Hurdle in a tactical affair on board of Nichols Canyon, producing the surprise of the season by defeating the champion hurdler Faugheen who was unbeaten at the time. Dave Mullins (freediver)
Dave Mullins is a New Zealand freediver and world record-holder. On 21 September 2007 Mullins improved on the then existing Dynamic apnea World record of 225 m held by Stig Severinsen, breaking it by 1 minute (226 meters in a time of 3:38). On 23 September 2007 Mullins improved on his own world record by 18 m of 244 meters in a time of 4:02. In August 2008 Mullins equaled the world record for Dynamic apnea Dynamic No Fins (SNF), previously set by Tom Sietas of Germany at 213 meters which they held until September 2010. Then, on Monday 27 September 2010 Mullins executed a DNF swim of 218 meters on a single breath to claim the world record as his alone. Dave's record-setting 218 meter DNF took 4 minutes and 11 seconds.
