Dave Maynard
David H. Maynard was a Boston television host and radio personality. Maynard was born in Larchmont, New York, in 1929. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Emerson College and his Master of Communication from Boston University, where he taught for 17 years. Broadcasting career Maynard's first job in radio was at WXKS (AM) in 1952. He later started at WORL, working as a rock DJ at both stations. In 1965, he took over from Gene Burns as the host of "Community Auditions," the amateur talent showcase that first began airing on WBZ-TV in 1950, and ended after 36 years on June 18, 1986. Larchmont is a village located within the Town of Mamaroneck in Westchester County, New York, approximately northeast of Midtown Manhattan. The population of the village was 5,864 at the 2010 census. Hernando is a census-designated place in Citrus County, Florida, United States. The population was 9,054 at the 2010 census. At one time it was a city but it was disincorporated in the 1970s. WROL is a radio station in the Boston, Massachusetts radio market. The station is owned by Salem Media Group and is located on 950 kHz on the AM dial. Kevin White (politician)
Kevin Hagan White (September 25, 1929 – January 27, 2012) was an American politician best known as the Mayor of Boston, an office to which he was first elected at the age of 38, and which he held for four terms, amounting to 16 years, from 1968 to 1984. He presided as mayor during racially turbulent years in the late 1960s and 1970s, and the start of desegregation of schools via court-ordered busing of school children in Boston. White won the mayoral office in the 1967 general election in a hard-fought campaign opposing the anti-busing and anti-desegregation Boston School Committee member Louise Day Hicks.
