Dave Giffard
Dave Giffard (born August 29, 1975) is an American soccer coach. Giffard was raised in Illinois, where he attended MacMurray College from 1993 to 1997, and played for the school's soccer team as a goalkeeper. After finishing college at MacMurray, with a Bachelor's degree in physical education, Giffard immediately went into the sport as a coach, coaching at various institutions as an assistant coach or goalkeeping coach for the next 15 years. Following his tenure as an assistant at MacMurray, Giffard was an assistant on the Westminster College Blue Jays, where they achieved their first 12-win season in program history. During his final years at Westminster, Giffard enrolled for postgraduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). While at UAB, Giffard earned his Master of Arts in Education, achieving his master's at the end of the 2002–03 academic year. The 2010 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament was a tournament of 48 collegiate soccer teams who played for the NCAA Championship in soccer. The 2013 NCAA Division I men's soccer season was the 55th season of NCAA championship men's college soccer. There were 203 teams in men's Division I competition. The 2012 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament is a single-elimination tournament involving 48 teams to determine the champion of the 2012 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the 54th edition of the tournament. Indiana defeated Georgetown, 1–0, to win its 8th national title. Qualified Teams A total of 48 teams will qualify into the tournament proper, either automatically, or through an at-large bid that is determined by a selection committee. The 2012 VCU Rams men's soccer team was the 33rd season of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia fielding a men's varsity college soccer program. The team played their inaugural season in the Atlantic 10 Conference of the NCAA Division I after playing the previous 17 seasons in the Colonial Athletic Association. After an eight-year absence, the Rams returned to the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament, securing an at-large bid, and being one of the 16 seeded teams, earning a fourteen seed and a bye to the second round. 2011 VCU Rams Men's Soccer Team
The VCU Rams men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of Virginia Commonwealth University, an NCAA Division I member school located in the state's capital of Richmond. The team is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Since their foundation, the team has won three conference championships, all of which came in the Colonial Athletic Association, and four regular season titles. The Rams have qualified for seven NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championships, most recently coming in 2012. Most of the team's success has come within the last 15 seasons, as they first reached the NCAA Tournament in 1997. The program's best performance in the tournament came in 2004, when the Rams reached the quarterfinals of the tournament, knocking off the top seed, Wake Forest, in the process. The 2011 NCAA Division I men's soccer season was the 53rd year of organized men's college soccer in the United States. The season was divided into three parts; the regular season, which started with early season tournaments against intraconference opponents, before the second half of the regular season that featured interconference matches. The regular season was held from late August to early November 2011. In mid-November, the conference tournaments were held, and from mid-November to mid-December, the NCAA Tournament was held.
