Dave Georgeff
Dave Georgeff (born February 28, 1968, in Naperville, Illinois) is an American musician. Born in Naperville, Illinois, and raised in nearby Downers Grove, Georgeff is a graduate of the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, California. Georgeff is a member of the Los Angeles indie rock combo, Sign Of The Fox, Sign of the Fox. He previously played bass guitar with mid-1990s Interscope Records, Interscope-signed California pop punk band, Wax (rock band), Wax. Wax gained notoriety for their music videos, directed by Spike Jonze, which received considerable play on MTV in the mid-1990s. Georgeff works in the music industry in a consulting capacity. He served as a music consultant on the film ''Jackass Number Two''. Georgeff long-ago adopted the alter-ego "Burdie Cutlass," and veterans of the California punk scene still call him that to this day. Naperville, Illinois
Naperville ( ) is a city in DuPage County, Illinois, DuPage and Will County, Illinois, Will counties in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is in the Chicago metro area, west of the city. Naperville was founded in 1831 by Joseph Naper. The city was established by the banks of the DuPage river, and was originally known as Naper's Settlement. Since the mid-1970s, California has had thriving regional punk rock movements. It primarily consists of bands from the Los Angeles, Orange County, Ventura County, San Diego, San Fernando Valley, San Francisco, Fresno, Bakersfield, Alameda County, Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, Oakland and Berkeley areas. Adam H. Spiegel (born October 22, 1969), known professionally as Spike Jonze, is an American filmmaker, actor, musician, and photographer. His work includes commercials, film, music videos, skateboard videos and television. Jonze began his career as a teenager photographing BMX riders and skateboarders for ''Freestylin' Magazine'' and ''Transworld Skateboarding'', and co-founding the youth culture magazine ''Dirt''. Moving into filmmaking, he began shooting street skateboarding films, including the influential ''Video Days'' (1991). Jonze co-founded the skateboard company Girl Skateboards in 1993 with riders Rick Howard and Mike Carroll. Wax was an American punk rock band from Los Angeles, California. Wax emerged during the pop punk resurgence of the early 1990s, and includes Joe Sib, Tom "Soda" Gardocki, Dave Georgeff, and Loomis Fall. The band is best known for their MTV buzz clip video "California", directed by Spike Jonze. History Wax formed in 1991 in Los Angeles, California. Pop punk (or punk pop) is a rock music genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop.
