David Garland (Gaelic Footballer)
David Garland (born 1998/9) is a Gaelic footballer who plays for Donaghmoyne and at senior level for the Monaghan county team. A forward, he won the 2020 Sigerson Cup with DCU. He is student of teaching (PE and biology). He is also an umpire. Though umpires are not often also county players, Garland has officiated at the National Football League as well as at the 2016 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship The 2016 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship was the GAA's premier inter-county gaelic football competition for under 18's. 32 teams took part. David Garland (born December 17, 1954) is a singer-songwriter, composer, instrument designer, illustrator, graphic designer, journalist, and former New York city radio personality. Music projects A multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Garland has recorded with Christian Marclay, John Zorn, Shelly Hirsch, Ikue Mori, Sufjan Stevens, Arto Lindsay, Sussan Deyhim, Sean Lennon, Guy Klucevsek, Michael Gira, Karen Mantler, Brian Dewan, and Meredith Monk, among others. He has performed at New York City’s Knitting Factory, The Kitchen, and Carnegie Hall, in Europe, on WNYC’s ''New Sounds'' and other venues, and has recorded several albums of his music. In 1993 he released an album, ''I Guess I Just Wasn’t Made For These Times'', which features Garland, along with accompanists Ikue Mori and Cinnie Cole, interpreting songs by Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. David John Garland
David John Garland (1864–1939) was an Anglican clergyman and a military chaplain in Queensland, Australia. As senior army camp chaplain in Queensland from 1914 to 1917, Garland experienced the World War I both at home and at the front. He was one of the originators of the now annual Anzac Day ceremonies. Described as "overpoweringly energetic with a distinctive flair, if not genius, for organisation", he played a pivotal role in the Queensland experience of the war, and was a central figure in a variety of committees and organisations established to aid the war effort and support or commemorate serving or returned soldiers.
