Dave Gambee
Dave Gambee (born February 16, 1937) is an American former basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Early life Gambee attended Corvallis High School in Corvallis, Oregon and starred in basketball and baseball. College career Gambee chose to stay in town and play college basketball at Oregon State University. Following the 1957–58 season, the 6-foot-7 Gambee was OSU’s career leader in points scored (1,468), was No. 3 in rebounds (828) and he had five 30-plus scoring games. Gambee was named an All-American twice while at Oregon State. He garnered those high honors in 1957 and 1958, and was also a first-team All-Pacific Coast Conference selection both years. He led the Beavers to the 1958 Pacific Coast Title and to three Far West Classic Championships. He was the 1957 Classic MVP. Points in basketball are used to keep track of the score in a game. Points can be accumulated by making field goals (two or three points) or free throws (one point). If a player makes a field goal from within the three-point line, the player scores two points. If the player makes a field goal from beyond the three-point line, the player scores three points. The team that has recorded the most points at the end of a game is declared that game's winner. 1958 NBA Draft
The 1958 NBA draft was the 12th annual draft of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The draft was held on April 22, 1958, before the 1958–59 season. In this draft, eight NBA teams took turns selecting amateur U.S. college basketball players. In each round, the teams select in reverse order of their win–loss record in the previous season. The Pac-12 Conference is a collegiate athletic conference, that operates in the Western United States, participating in 24 sports at the NCAA Division I level. Its football teams compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS; formerly Division I-A), the highest level of college football in the nation.
