Daur People
The Daur people (Khalkha Mongolian: Дагуур, ''Daguur''; ) are a Mongolic people in Northeast China. The Daur form one of the 56 ethnic groups officially recognised in the People's Republic of China. They numbered 131,992 according to the latest census (2010) and most of them live in Morin Dawa Daur Autonomous Banner in Hulun Buir, Inner Mongolia and Meilisi Daur District in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang of China. There are also some near Tacheng in Xinjiang, where their ancestors were moved during the Qing dynasty. Language The Dagur language is a Mongolic language. There is a Latin-based orthography which has been devised by a native Daur scholar. The Dagur language retains some Khitan substratal features, including a number of lexemes not found in other Mongolic languages. It is made up of three dialects: Batgan, Hailar, Qiqihar. Daur Zantaria ( ab, Даур Занҭариа) (25 May 1953 – 7 August 2001) was a writer and journalist from Abkhazia, publishing both in Abkhaz and Russian languages. Early life and education Zantaria was born on 25 May 1953 in the village of Tamysh, Ochamchira District. He graduated with a gold medal from Tamysh high school in 1971 and with honours from the philological faculty of the Sukhum State Pedagogical Institute in 1975. Literary career Zantaria published his first short story ''Kuasta'' in the magazine '' Alashara'' in 1976. In the following years, his short stories and poems appeared in ''Alashara'', the children's magazine '' Amtsabz'', the newspaper '' Apsny Kapsh'' and the almanac '' Literary Abkhazia''. In 1984, Zantaria entered the Union of Soviet Writers. Daur Larikovich Kvekveskiri ( ab, Даур Ларик-иҧа Қәақәасқьыр; russian: Даур Лерикович Квеквескири; born 7 February 1998) is a Russian football midfielder who plays for FC Chayka Peschanokopskoye and Abkhazia national football team. Club career He was born in Gali, in Abhazia, Georgia. He represented the Abkhazia national football team at the 2017 ConIFA European Football Cup and he played all four games (Abkhazia finished fourth). Daur Akhvlediani ( ka, დაურ ახვლედიანი, russian: Даур Ахвледиани; 10 October 1964 – 22 September 1993) was an Abkhaz professional football player. He took part in the War in Abkhazia (1992–93), subsequently died and was posthumously awarded the order Hero of Abkhazia, the highest honorary title of the disputed territory of Abkhazia. Life and career Daur Akhvlediani was born in a Georgian family in Gagra, Georgia, which at that time was part of the Soviet Union. Ad-Dawr ( ar, الدور) is a small agricultural town in Saladin Governorate, Iraq, near Tikrit.
