Daur-e-Junoon
''Daur-e-Junoon'' ( ur, دورے جنون, literal English translation: "the era of junoon") is the second live album and overall the twelfth album released by the Pakistani rock band, Junoon (band), Junoon. The album was released on March 29, 2002. The album consists of all the major live performances by the band and contains a new version of the 1990s hit, "Jazba-e-Junoon" and also the soundtrack, "Garaj Baras", of the bollywood movie ''Paap'' from their forthcoming album "Dewaar" by then. The name of the album came to Junoon's manager, Shehryar Ahmad. He incorrectly translated the English word for tour (as in concert tour, reflecting that it was a live album) as "Daur", connoting Junoon Tour, as "Daur-e-Junoon." ''Sayonee'' ( ur, ) is a song by the Pakistani sufi rock band Junoon, released in April, 1997. It is the first track from the band's fourth album, '' Azadi'' (1997), released on EMI Records. Written by lead guitarist and founder of the band Salman Ahmad and writer Sabir Zafar, it is the lead single on the album, the song uses blends of rock guitars and bluesy vocals with traditional musical elements like the tabla percussion drums, Hindustani raga-inspired melodies styled and blended into Pakistani folk music. The unexpected success of "Sayonee" in 1997 propelled ''Azadi'' at the local and international music charts, within three months of the release of ''Azadi'', the album had sold over half a million copies and hit platinum sales status in a record of four weeks. Junoon For Peace
''Junoon for Peace'' is the first live album and the eleventh overall album by the Pakistani band, Junoon. The album was recorded live on October 27, 2001. The concert was a tribute to the victims of the World Trade Center attack and a call for an end to the subsequent discrimination faced by Arabs and South Asians in United States. it was a call for peace on all fronts. Background Following the 9/11 attacks, Junoon helped to organise a concert at the General Assembly on UN Day with Junoon and an Indian group performing at the Assembly Hall, a first of its kind. They also released their what they called their first English-language single, "No More", an anti-violence song which deals directly with the events of that day. ''Dewaar'' (Urdu: دیوار, literal English translation: "wall") is the seventh studio album and the thirteenth overall album of the Pakistani band, Junoon released in 2003. This was the last studio album released by the band after which both vocalist, Ali Azmat and bassist, Brian O'Connell, left the band. Brian O'Connell (musician)
Brian O'Connell is an American multi- instrumentalist, composer, arranger, record producer and actor. He is the bassist and producer for Pakistani sufi rock band Junoon. O'Connell and Salman Ahmad were friends of one another since high school. O'Connell joined Junoon when keyboardist, Nusrat Hussain, left the band and Salman Ahmad contacted and invited him to play bass on the band's second album, '' Talaash''. He is known for harmonizing the western 5-string bass riffs with the traditional tabla and drums. After the release of the band's seventh studio album, '' Dewaar'', O'Connell went back to his native land the United States. Morten Harket () (born September 14, 1959) is a Norwegian vocalist and songwriter, who is the lead singer of the synthpop/rock band A-ha. Roskilde Festival
The Roskilde Festival is a Danish music festival held annually south of Roskilde. It is one of the largest music festivals in Europe and the largest in the Nordic countries. It was created in 1971 by two high school students and a promoter. In 1972, the festival was taken over by the Roskilde Foundation, which has since run the festival as a non-profit organization for development and support of music, culture and humanism. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family.
