Darwinia Collina
''Darwinia collina'', commonly known as the yellow mountain bell, is a plant in the myrtle family Myrtaceae. It grows as an erect shrub high with crowded elliptical leaves and bright yellow flower-like inflorescences. It is endemic to a few small areas in the Stirling Range National Park, Western Australia and as a result is classified as an endangered species. Description The yellow mountain bell is a small, compact, erect shrub up to about high. Its leaves are about long, wide and minutely toothed. Bell-shaped, flower-like inflorescences appear from March to April and from August to November. These are clusters of drooping, nectar-rich flowers with white petals surrounded by larger yellow to lime-green, petal-like bracts. The style (botany), styles are up to long and sometimes protrude slightly beyond the bracts. Bluff Knoll
Bluff Knoll is the highest peak of the Stirling Range in the Great Southern (Western Australia), Great Southern region of Western Australia (WA). It is above sea level, with a prominence of 650 m (2,130 ft). The local Aboriginal people, the Mineng and Koreng/Goreng sub-groups of the Noongar Nation, call the mountain ''Boola Miyel or'' ''Pualaar Miial'', meaning "great many-faced hill" or "many eyes", as the peak has rock formations that resemble eyes looking out across the valley. The Bluff Knoll trail is a round trip of about taking three to four hours, and has a Grade 4 rating of climbing difficulty, with some steep and rough steps. In 2020 many parts of the trail were destroyed in the 2019–20 Australian bushfire season, Black Summer bushfires, and has since been upgraded and improved.
