Darvish Fakhr
Darvish Fakhr (born 1969) is an Iranian American artist born in Newfoundland. He is an artist in the field of Iranian portrait paintings. Biography Born in 1969, Fakhr grew up in the U.S. before moving to Britain where his practice has been based for the last two decades. Fakhr trained at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Slade School of Fine Art in London. In 2004 he won the BP Travel Award and used the opportunity to go to Iran and paint local people in Tehran and Isfahan. Fakhr's paintings show the depths of emotion behind outwardly ritualised lives and aim to help us understand the common humanity that links the Western world and the Middle East. He explores the relationship between shared memory and the passage of time, looking both to the past and the future. He currently lives in Brighton, Sussex. Darvish Khan
Darvish Khan ( fa, درویش‌خان , Gholam Hossein Darvish; 1872 – 22 November 1926) was a Persian classical musician and a tar player.http://www.hamshahrionline.ir/news.aspx?id=44944 Biography Darvish Khan was born in Tehran. His teachers included his father and Aqa Hossein-Qoli Farahani. He was a member of the Aziz Soltan music group. Later, he attended the Dar ol-Fonoon Music School. He played a concert at the Grand Hotel of Tehran with other great masters of Persian music of his time, including Aref Qazvini. Darvish left for London and Tbilisi to record. He died at the age of 54, on 22 November 1926, in an accident. His carriage was hit by a lorry automobile which was very rare at that time. Darvish Mohammad Khan
Darvish Mohammad Khan was the Khan of Sheki (1524-1551). He ascended the throne after his father's assassination in May of the year 1524. In 1538, he helped Shahrukh of Shirvan against the Safavids but without success so he retreated back to Shaki. The next year he married Pari Khan Khanum, daughter of the Safavid Shah Tahmasp I. He sent his son Bagi beg as a hostage to the Safavid court. In 1551 Tahmasp I started an invasion of Shaki along with the Georgian king Levan of Kakheti. The result of the massive invasion was the death of Darvish Mohammad Khan and the devastation of the castles Galarsan-Gorarsan and Kish. Shaki was given to Toygun beg Qajar. Khan's son Bagi beg was held as prisoner in Shah Tahmasp I's court. is a Japanese visual kei "air" rock band formed in 2004 and signed to the independent label Euclid Agency (sublabel ''Zany Zap''). Despite not actually performing the instruments themselves during concerts, they have gained popularity through their theatrical "live shows". History The band was formed in 2004 by vocalist Shō Kiryūin and guitarist Yutaka Kyan. The band's concept was "Hyper Giga Hybrid Super Subculture Visual Rock". Teppei Chimatsuri joined as the first drummer and keyboardist; when he left later, Dankichi Tenkujō took over as drummer. Jun Utahiroba joined as bassist on 22 April 2007. , more commonly known as Yu Darvish (ダルビッシュ 有), is a Japanese professional baseball pitcher for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). Darvish has also played in MLB for the Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Chicago Cubs and in Nippon Professional Baseball for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters.
