Darren O'Brien
Darren O'Brien (born 22 March 1969) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) and for West Perth Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Early career Originally from Collie, Western Australia, O'Brien began his playing career with West Perth in the WAFL. He played 141 senior WAFL games from 1988 to 1995 (and a further 19 games in 1998) for a return of 83 goals and, after winning a WAFL Grand Final with West Perth in 1995, he became the subject of interest from AFL clubs, despite being 26 years old. Known as centreman with a penetrating left foot kick, O'Brien was drafted by Melbourne with the 60th selection in the 1995 National draft, in what was described as the "surprise of the draft because of his age" by ''The Age''. West Perth Football Club
The West Perth Football Club, nicknamed the Falcons, is an Australian rules football club located in Joondalup, Western Australia. West Perth competes in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW) and is the oldest existing Australian rules football club in Western Australia. Paul Couch
Paul Couch (19 July 1964 – 5 March 2016) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Geelong in the Australian Football League. Football career Prior to playing with Geelong, Couch initially tried out with Fitzroy but was rejected for being too slow. He was recruited from the Warrnambool Football Club and, though never blessed with pace and with a very "one-sided" left-foot kick, he had the ability to make position and place his team to advantage throughout twelve (often knee injury–ridden) years. As a traditional " centreman", Couch was the pivot for the leading teams of 1989–1995. While lacking outright pace, he had a strong work ethic, along with a good football brain and disposal skills, and was well-regarded as a centreman. The AFL Tribunal is the disciplinary tribunal of the Australian Football League (AFL), an Australian rules football competition. The Tribunal regulates the conduct of players, umpires, and other officials associated with the AFL and its clubs. Points system Prior to 2005, any player who was reported would face a hearing at the AFL Tribunal. This process had become problematic, and in 2005, a new system (similar to that used by the NRL Judiciary at the time) was adopted.
