Darren Hulme
Darren Hulme (born 19 July 1977) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton. Hulme played junior football for the Frankston Bombers, and the Dandenong Stingrays in the TAC Cup. He was recruited to the AFL with the 8th selection in the 1997 AFL Preseason Draft. Very small in stature, but tough and hard at the ball, Hulme played primarily as a midfielder and/or tagger with stints in the forward-line. His kicking was the biggest deficiency in his game, but this improved as his career progressed. When he arrived at the club, both his playing style and his hairstyle were similar to that of ten-year veteran Fraser Brown; Brown's nickname had been "Dog", and Hulme accordingly received the nickname "Pup", which stayed with him throughout his time at Carlton.BlueseumDarren Hulme Retrieved 25 April 2011. The Goulburn Valley Football Netball League is an Australian rules football and netball competition based in the Goulburn Valley region of Victoria, Australia. It is a member of the Victorian Country Football League and has won the Victorian Country Football Championships in 2003 and 2005. The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football league in Australia serving as one of the second-tier regional semi-professional competitions which sit underneath the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL). It includes teams from clubs based in the eastern states of Australia: Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, and includes reserves teams for the east coast AFL clubs. The Bendigo Gold Football Club was an Australian rules football club based in Bendigo, Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia. The club played in the Victorian Football League (VFL) from 1998 until 2014, under the nicknames Diggers, Bombers and Gold at different times. History The ''South East Suburban Football League'' was formed in 1963 as a merger of the Caulfield Oakleigh District Football League with the East Suburban Football League after a number of its clubs moved to the Croydon Ferntree Gully FL (now Eastern Football League (Australia), Eastern Football League). The Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League (abbreviated "MPNFL") is an Australian rules football competition, governed by the AFL South East. The MPNFL contains teams near the south eastern region of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. At the end of the 2017 season, the competition was restructured from a geographical to a divisional structure, with promotion/ relegation.
