Darrell Dickey
Darrell Ray Dickey (born December 6, 1959) is an American football coach who most recently coached for the Texas A&M Aggies football team. Before joining the Texas A&M staff he was the offensive coordinator at Memphis from the 2012 to 2017 seasons, the offensive coordinator at Texas State for the 2011 season, and at the University of New Mexico for the 2009 and 2010 seasons. He was head coach of the University of North Texas from 1998 to 2006. During the 13 years prior to his stint at North Texas, Dickey was an assistant at SMU, UTEP, LSU, Mississippi State, Memphis, and Texas A&M. Subsequent to his tenure at North Texas, he was an assistant at Utah State and New Mexico. Dickey was a quarterback in college, playing for his father, Jim Dickey, at Kansas State University. Coached by Dickey, North Texas won the 2002 New Orleans Bowl. American Football
American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. Jackie Sherrill
Jackie Wayne Sherrill (born November 28, 1943) is a former American football player and coach. He was the head football coach at Washington State University (1976), the University of Pittsburgh (1977–1981), Texas A&M University (1982–1988), and Mississippi State University (1991–2003), compiling a career college football record of 180–120–4. Sherrill is a studio analyst for Fox Sports Net's college football coverage. Playing career Sherrill played football at the University of Alabama under Bear Bryant from 1962 to 1965, helping the Crimson Tide win two national championships. 1982 Independence Bowl
The 1982 Independence Bowl was a post-season American college football bowl game between the Wisconsin Badgers and the Kansas State Wildcats at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana on December 11, 1982. The game was the final contest of the 1982 NCAA Division I-A football season for both teams, and ended in a 14–3 victory for the Badgers. The contest was the first college football game televised live by ESPN, and it was Wisconsin's first bowl victory. The national anthem was performed by the Centenary College Choir. Allan Evridge (born June 24, 1985) is a former American football quarterback. He played college football for the Kansas State Wildcats football team from 2004 to 2005 and the Wisconsin Badgers football team from 2007 to 2008. College career Wisconsin In 2008, Evridge was a surprise starter at Wisconsin following the graduation of previous quarterback Tyler Donovan. He seemed to get off to a good start in games against Akron, Marshall, and Fresno State, and got the Badgers off to a 19–0 lead over Michigan in Ann Arbor at the end of the first half. Chapel Hill High School is a public high school in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It is located close to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Chapel Hill High School is part of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools district which contains two other high schools, Carrboro High School and East Chapel Hill High School. The 2002 Wyndham New Orleans Bowl featured the Cincinnati Bearcats and the North Texas Mean Green. It was North Texas' second consecutive New Orleans Bowl appearance. Quarterback Gino Guidugli got Cincinnati on the board first with a 6-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Tye Keith, to give Cincinnati a 7–0 lead. Jim Dickey
James Dickey (March 22, 1934 – February 17, 2018) was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Kansas State University from 1978 to 1985, compiling record of 24–54–2. In 1981, he redshirted 18 players, including eight seniors and almost all of his best players. With all of those players returning the following season in 1982, Dickey led Kansas State to their first bowl game appearance in school history, the Independence Bowl, where they lost to the Wisconsin Badgers. 1982 was also the first winning season for the program since 1970 under head coach Vince Gibson. After opening the 1985 season with two consecutive losses to I-AA teams, Dickey was forced to resign on September 15.
