''Darkstone: Evil Reigns'' (''Darkstone'' in North America) is an action role-playing video game developed by Delphine Software International for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation. In 2014, the French publisher Anuman Interactive launched a remake available on iPad, iPhone and Android, with the cooperation of the original game's author Paul Cuisset. Plot In the distant past a corrupt monk, Draak, turned against the goddess of light, Kaliba, and turned himself into a dragon. However, he was eventually thwarted from destroying the world via the Time Orb, created from seven of Kaliba's tears. To protect the Time Orb from Draak's followers, it was split apart again by Kaliba's monks and the seven crystals hidden across the four lands of Uma. The game begins when Draak has recovered from his earlier defeat and returned with his minions to the world of Uma. Delphine Software International was a French video game developer. They were famous for publishing '' Another World'' and creating the cinematic platform game '' Flashback'', which bore a similarity to ''Prince of Persia'', both in gameplay and in its use of rotoscoped animation. Gathering of Developers, Inc. (shortened as G.O.D. or GodGames, and branded as Gathering between 2003 and 2004) was an American video game publisher based in New York City. Founded by Mike Wilson and associates in January 1998 and originally based in Dallas, the company was acquired by Take-Two Interactive in May 2000. Between May 2000 and March 2001, Gathering of Developers also operated a division, On Deck Interactive, which acted as their mass market label. Paul Cuisset
Paul Cuisset (born 1964) is a French programmer and designer of several video games. Career Paul Cuisset was the lead designer of Delphine Software International and the creator of '' Flashback'', which was listed in the '' Guinness World Records'' as the best-selling French game of all time. Cuisset was also the Managing Director of the video game developer Vector Cell, which he co-owned with the game developer Lexis Numerique. Cuisset designed two games under the Vector Cell banner, one of which being a remake of ''Flashback'', but the company's titles were unsuccessful and they went bankrupt in late 2013. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review. GameRankings was a video gaming review aggregator that was founded in 1999 and owned by CBS Interactive. It indexed over 315,000 articles relating to more than 14,500 video games. GameRankings was discontinued in December 2019, with its staff being merged with the similar aggregator Metacritic. Rankings GameRankings collected and linked to (but did not host) reviews from other websites and magazines and averages specific ones. While hundreds of reviews may get listed, only the ones that GameRankings deemed notable were used for the average. Scores were culled from numerous American and European sources.
