Darkseid
Darkseid () is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by writer-artist Jack Kirby to serve as the primary antagonist of his "Fourth World (comics), Fourth World" metaseries, and was first seen briefly in ''Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen'' #134 in December 1970 before being officially introduced in the debut issue of ''Forever People'' in February 1971. Kirby modeled Darkseid's face on actor Jack Palance and based his personality on Adolf Hitler and Richard Nixon. Formerly known as Uxas, Darkseid is a New Gods, New God and the tyrannical Lord of Apokolips who is regarded as one of the most powerful beings in the DC Universe. New Gods
The New Gods are a fictional extraterrestrial race appearing in the eponymous comic book series published by DC Comics, as well as selected other DC titles. Created and designed by Jack Kirby, they first appeared in February 1971 in ''New Gods'' #1. Publication history Volume 1 (1971) The New Gods are natives of the twin planets of New Genesis and Apokolips. New Genesis is an idyllic planet filled with unspoiled forests, mountains, and rivers that is ruled by the benevolent Highfather, while Apokolips is a nightmarish, polluted, and ruined dystopia filled with machinery and fire pits that is ruled by the tyrannical Darkseid. The two planets were once part of the same world, a planet called ''Urgrund'' (German language, German for "primeval ground"), but it was split apart millennia ago after the death of the Old Gods during Ragnarök. Female Furies
The Female Furies are a group of women warriors and supervillains appearing in comics published by DC Comics. All of them are New Gods who serve Darkseid. They operate directly under Granny Goodness, who trains all of Darkseid's soldiers. Publication history The Female Furies first appeared in ''Mister Miracle'' #6 (February 1972) and were created by Jack Kirby. In November 2018, the Female Furies headlined their own six-issue miniseries by writer Cecil Castellucci and artist Adriana Melo. Kalibak
Kalibak Kalibak () is a supervillain appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. He is the eldest son of Darkseid, half-brother of Orion and Grayven, and an enemy of Superman and the Justice League. Created by Jack Kirby, being debuted with the rest of the New Gods, first appearing in ''New Gods'' #1 (February 1971) in an era called the Silver Age of comic books. He is originally and recurrently depicted as the brutish son of Darkseid commonly seeking affection of his father who he had a tragic childhood with. He is also depicted as second in command as leader of Apokolips and rival to another of Darkseid' son, Orion. Kalibak's name is derived from the William Shakespeare character name Caliban, the half-man from '' The Tempest. Kalibak is the first-born son of Darkseid and Suli. Apokolips
Apokolips is a fictional planet that appears in American comic books published by DC Comics. The planet is ruled by Darkseid, established in Jack Kirby's Fourth World series, and is integral to many stories in the DC Universe. Apokolips is considered the opposite of the planet New Genesis. Apokolips is a large planet covered entirely by a city (an ecumenopolis). It is a notoriously dismal place, where the slavish Hunger Dogs (low-class citizens) labor endlessly to feed the Energy Pits which supply light and power to the world. Both Apokolips and New Genesis exist in a different plane of existence from the regular DC Universe, located near the Source that originated the Old and New Gods.
