Darko Jelčić
Darko "Cunja" Jelčić (born 1 January 1965 in Zenica, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Bosnian musician best known for having been Crvena Jabuka's drummer from 1985 to 2017. Jelčić was born in Zenica on New Year's Day, 1965. As a child, he loved to listen to records (notably folk artists such as Safet Isović, Kemal Monteno, and Halid Bešlić) as well as bands such as Indexi. At only 13 or 14 years of age, his uncle bought him a drum kit as a Christmas present, and Jelčić quickly learned to play drums without anyone showing him anything. In 1974, Jelčić relocated to Sarajevo with his family, and formed the band Flott. While the band was mostly progressive pop, and a great influence on the Yugoslav musical scene, they were not too successful, and disbanded after having been together for less than ten years. Zenica
Zenica ( ; ; ) is a city in Bosnia and Herzegovina and an administrative and economic center of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Zenica-Doboj Canton. It is located in the Bosna (river), Bosna river valley, about north of Sarajevo. The city is known for its Ironworks Zenica factory but also as a significant University of Zenica, university center. According to the 2013 population census in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2013 census, the settlement of Zenica itself counts 70,553 citizens and the administrative area 110,663. New Primitives
New Primitivism (Serbo-Croatian: Novi primitivizam) was a subcultural movement established in Sarajevo, SR Bosnia-Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia in March 1983. It primarily used music, along with satire, sketch and surreal comedy on radio and television, as its form of expression. Its protagonists and followers called themselves the New Primitives. Functioning as a banner that summarizes and encompasses the work of two rock bands Zabranjeno Pušenje and Elvis J. Kurtović & His Meteors as well as ''Top lista nadrealista'' radio segment that eventually grew into a television sketch show, the discourse of New Primitivism was seen as primarily irreverent and humorous. The movement officially disbanded sometime in 1987, although the bands and television show continued for a few more years after that—Elvis J. ''U tvojim očima'' is the sixth studio album by the Sarajevo band Crvena jabuka. The album was originally released on January 17, 1996. Background In 1993, Žera took part in the first Bosnian selection for a representative at Eurovision with the song "Monroe". The song won the 4th place In 1994, he moved to Croatia, and the following year he recorded a duet with Severina on the album Trava zelena. Content This album was the first to have Crvena jabuka in their new lineup. There were many songwriters on the album including Saša Lošić. The album's hit single was "Sanjam te" which was performed by Dražen Ričl, and Aljoša Buha before their deaths in 1986. Then it was re edited by the rest of the band. ''Tamo gdje ljubav počinje'' is the fourth studio album from the Sarajevo-based Bosnian pop rock band Crvena Jabuka, released in 1989. This album is mostly centered on love songs, and had six singles. After the release of this album there was a tour that lasted to near the start of 1990. The most significant concert was at the Zagreb Sports Arena, where Crvena Jabuka recorded their first live album '' Uzmi me (kad hoćeš ti)''. This album features the band in its concert lineup at that time, and it was the first album to be produced by Nikša Bratoš. Crvena Jabuka (album)
''Crvena Jabuka'' is the first studio album by Sarajevo-based Bosnian band Crvena Jabuka. It was recorded in January and February 1986, and the official release was 22 March 1986. This album was the first (and only) album to have the band in its original lineup. Many of the songs on this album were written by Zlatko Arslanagić. After the release of their self-titled debut album, Crvena Jabuka was supposed to go on a concert on 18 September 1986. The concert never happened since two members of the band were involved in a serious car crash near Jablanica that claimed the life of bass player Aljoša Buha at the scene, as well as guitarist and vocalist Dražen Ričl (who died in a hospital nearly two weeks later from the injuries.) Dražen Žerić
Dražen "Žera" Žerić (born 20 July 1964) is a Bosnian singer and one of the founders and lead vocalist of famous Bosnian band, Crvena Jabuka (Red Apple). Noted for his spiky hair and a distinctive voice, he remains one of the most recognizable vocals of the entire area of Former Yugoslavia. Biography Early years Žerić was born in the city of Mostar, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia in a family of Bosniaks professors Nedžib and Šemsa. Žerić has one brother, Damir, who lives in Rome. Žerić grew up in Sarajevo where he attended music school for piano, as well as primary and secondary school. He later graduated with aa economics degree from The University of Sarajevo. From early to mid 1985, Zlatko Arslanagić formed a band with his mates Dražen Ričl, Aljoša Buha, Cunja Jelčić and Žera. ''Za sve ove godine'' is the second studio album by the Sarajevo-based Bosnian pop rock band Crvena Jabuka, released in 1987. It is a tribute album to Drazen Ricl-Zijo and Aljosa Buha who were killed the year before. Background Crvena Jabuka began working on this album over the summer of 1986, a while before their first concert and the tragic incident. In that time, Ricl and rhythm guitarist/primary lyricist Zlatko Arslanagic had a few demos of some potential songs to appear on the album. The demos were leaked online in the last quarter of 2011 - twenty-five years to the day when the two aforementioned members died. The album also had a working name of "Uzmi me Kad Hoces Ti" (Take me When You Want To), which in the end was recycled for their first live album in 1990. Skenderija
Skenderija is a cultural, sports and trade center located in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the area of 70,000 square meters there are multipurpose halls where various sports, cultural and trade events are organized throughout the year, as well as a modern shopping center "Privredni grad" with numerous shops, restaurants, coffee confectionery and similar. Skenderija consists of several venues which include: Dom Mladih, Ars Aevi and Mirza Delibašić Hall. History Due to a lack of an exhibition and sports-centre within the fast expanding city of Sarajevo of the late 1960s, the city-community planned to build the new Skenderija-centre.
