Gregory Stephen Perkins (born 28 December 1964), better known by his stage name Tex Perkins, is an Australian singer-songwriter who fronted the Australian rock band The Cruel Sea, but has also performed with the Beasts of Bourbon, Thug, James Baker Experience, The Butcher Shop, Salamander Jim, and Tex, Don and Charlie. Charles Lothian Lloyd "Charlie" Owen is an Australian multi-instrumentalist and producer. He has been a member of The New Christs (1987–90), Louis Tillett, Louis Tillett and His Cast of Aspersions (1990), Tex, Don and Charlie (1993–95, 2005–06), Tendrils (band), Tendrils (1994–99) and Beasts of Bourbon (1996–97, 2003). His solo album, ''Vertigo and Other Phobias'', was released in 1994 on Red Eye/Polydor. The charts are a record of the highest selling songs and albums in various genres in Australia. ARIA became the official Australian music chart in June 1988, succeeding the Kent Music Report, which had been Australia's national music sales charts since 1974. James Cruickshank
James George Watson, who performed as James Cruickshank (1962 – 8 October 2015), was an Australian musician. He was the long-term guitarist and keyboardist for indie rock group, the Cruel Sea. As a solo artist he released three albums, ''Hymn for Her'' (2003), ''Hello Human'' (2007) and ''Note to Self'' (2011). In 2014 he was diagnosed with bowel cancer and died in the following year, aged 53. Biography James George Watson was born in 1962 in Melbourne and grew up with two siblings. Murray Paterson
Dr Murray Paterson (born 1963) is an Australian songwriter and musician most notable for his collaborations with Tex Perkins and his own recording project, Headland. The main vehicle for Paterson's collaborations with Tex Perkins was the band Dark Horses, but he also contributed to albums by Tex, Don and Charlie. Paterson and Perkins co-scored the soundtrack for the film ''Beautiful Kate'', the directorial feature debut from Rachel Ward. With Perkins he received an ARIA nomination in 2009 for Best Original Soundtrack/Cast/Show Album for the soundtrack. Headland began as a film retrieval project in which 8mm film shot by amateur moviemakers involved with the Northern NSW surf culture in the 1970s was collected and archived by Paterson. The resulting score LP, ''sound/track'' (HL01), was released in Australia in 2013 followed by a 2014 release in the UK and Europe. The compact disc (CD) is a digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. In August 1982, the first compact disc was manufactured. It was then released in October 1982 in Japan and branded as '' Digital Audio Compact Disc''. The format was later adapted (as CD-ROM) for general-purpose data storage.
