Dark Angel (band)
Dark Angel is an American thrash metal band from Downey, California, that formed in 1981. The band's current lineup includes guitarists Jim Durkin and Eric Meyer, drummer Gene Hoglan, bassist Mike Gonzalez and frontman Ron Rinehart. In its history, they have gone through many lineup changes, and there are no original members left in Dark Angel besides Durkin, who was out of the band from 1989 to 2013. Meyer, who joined in 1984, is the only member to appear on all of their albums. Dark Angel's over-the-top style (extremely fast, heavy and lengthy songs with many tempo changes, lyrics, and extended instrumental parts) earned them the nickname "The L.A. Caffeine Machine". Despite never achieving mainstream success, the band is often credited as one of the leaders of the second wave of the 1980s thrash metal movement, and they have been cited as a strong influence to the death metal genre. Hellfest (French Music Festival)
Hellfest (), also called Hellfest Summer Open Air, is a rock festival focusing on heavy metal music, held annually in June in Clisson, France. Its high attendance makes it the French music festival with the largest turnover. It is also one of the biggest metal festivals in Europe and the first to exist in France. It originated in another music festival, the Fury Fest, held from 2002 to 2005, in different areas of Pays de la Loire. Hellfest took over in 2006 and over the years has seen a continuous rise in visitors, from 22,000 in the first edition, to 55,000 tickets sold per day in 2017. In 2022, the seven-day festival featured 350 bands and was attended by 60,000 people per day. Thrash Metal

Slayer
Slayer was an American thrash metal band from Huntington Park, California. The band was formed in 1981 by guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, drummer Dave Lombardo and bassist/vocalist Tom Araya. Slayer's fast and aggressive musical style made them one of the "big four" bands of thrash metal, alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax. Slayer's final lineup comprised Araya, King, drummer Paul Bostaph (who replaced Lombardo in 1992 and again in 2013) and guitarist Gary Holt (who replaced Hanneman in 2011). ''Time Does Not Heal'' is the fourth studio album by Dark Angel, released in 1991. This was Dark Angel's final album before their break up in 1992. Work on a follow-up album, under the name ''Atrocity Exhibition'', was prepared, but never advanced past a few demos. ''Time Does Not Heal'' was also Dark Angel's only album with former Viking guitarist Brett Eriksen, who replaced Jim Durkin two years earlier. Album content ''Time Does Not Heal'' finds Dark Angel continuing the experimentation of its predecessor, ''Leave Scars'' (1989), introducing elements of technical and progressive, otherwise known as "technical thrash metal". It includes songs that are more than five minutes in length, odd time signatures and more complexity; similar to its predecessor, ''Time Does Not Heal'' abandoned the occult-related themes of their first two albums in favor of lyrics about social issues such as psychology and apathy. ''Leave Scars'' is the third studio album released by the American thrash metal band, Dark Angel, released on January 24, 1989. It was their first album with vocalist Ron Rinehart and bassist Mike Gonzalez (who joined just prior to the release of ''Darkness Descends''), and the last to feature guitarist Jim Durkin. ''Leave Scars'' was Dark Angel's most successful release, peaking at number 159 on the ''Billboard'' 200. ''Darkness Descends'' is the second studio album by the American thrash metal band Dark Angel, released on November 17, 1986. We Have Arrived (album)
''We Have Arrived'' is the debut studio album by American thrash metal band Dark Angel, released in March 1985. ''We Have Arrived'' has been reissued at least two times. In 1986, it was re-released by the French recording label Axe Killer in a 2,000 number limited edition. It was then re-released once again in 1997 by Axe Killer. The label attached to the plastic wrap says that this is a remastered edition, but there is no indication of it in the booklet. ''We Have Arrived'' is the only Dark Angel album to feature Jack Schwartz on drums, as Gene Hoglan replaced him as their drummer on subsequent albums. One of the songs from this album, "Merciless Death", was re-recorded for their next album ''Darkness Descends''. Reception The album was met with mixed reactions.
