Darfur (film)
''Darfur'' (previously called ''Janjaweed'') is a 2009 American film directed by Uwe Boll concerning the current conflict in Darfur, starring David O'Hara, Kristanna Loken, Billy Zane and Edward Furlong. The film was also released as ''Attack on Darfur''. Plot The plot of ''Darfur'' revolves around six Western journalists who visit a small village in Darfur in western Sudan under the escort of a squad of soldiers of the African Union (AU) peacekeeping mission. When they learn the brutal state sponsored militia called the Janjaweed are heading towards the village, they are faced with an impossible decision: leave Sudan and report the atrocities to the world, or risk their own lives and stay in the hopes of averting a certain slaughter. Uwe Boll
Uwe Boll (; born June 22, 1965) is a German filmmaker. He came to prominence during the 2000s for his adaptations of video game franchises which often starred international stars like Jason Statham, Burt Reynolds, Ray Liotta, Christian Slater, Elisabeth Moss, Nate Parker, J. K. Simmons and Ben Kingsley. Released theatrically, the films were critical and commercial failures; his Alone in the Dark (2005 film), 2005 ''Alone in the Dark'' adaptation is considered List of films considered the worst, one of the worst films ever made. The film is based on the factual duties of tunnel rats during the Vietnam War.
