Dapinglin Station
The Taipei Metro Dapinglin station (formerly transliterated as Ta Pinglin Station until 2003) is located in Xindian District, New Taipei, Taiwan. It is a station on the Songshan–Xindian line and the Circular line. __NOTOC__ Circular Line construction at the station began on 8 October 2010. Station overview This four-level, underground station, has two island platforms and five exits. Due to the plans for the Circular line being unknown during construction of the Xindian line, there was no space reserved for the transfer to the future Circular line. Xindian District
Xindian District () is an inner city district in the southern part of New Taipei City, Taiwan. Name Xindian's name originated during the Qing Dynasty close to 300 years ago. According to legend, a person named Lin and others came from Quanzhou, Fujian Province. On a mountain road leading to Wulai, they built a small cabin and opened a store selling groceries for the exchange of goods with mountain aborigines. Since the store had no formal name, travelers called it ''Sintiam'' (). An area usually not considered as part of Xindian is ''Ankeng'' (), although it is within the jurisdiction of the district, located in a valley on the west side of the Xindian Creek. Songshan Station
Songshan () is a railway and metro station in Taipei, Taiwan, served by Taiwan Railways and Taipei Metro. This station connects to the shopping centre at basement 1 and level 1. The station is a planned transfer for the Circular line, where, unlike the Songshan–Xindian line, continues straight until its terminus after Xiangshan station, which is likely Sanzhangli station. Station overview Songshan Station became the principle south-bound origin and north-bound terminus for the Western Trunk line starting in 1986, after the reconstruction of Taipei Station began in 1985. Jing-Mei White Terror Memorial Park
The Jing-Mei White Terror Memorial Park () is a museum in Xindian District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. History The building used to serve as a military school from 1957 to 1967. It later housed military courts and a detention center called the Jingmei Military Detention Center () for political dissidents during the White Terror period. Former prisoners in the detention center include Annette Lu, Chen Chu and Shih Ming-teh. In 1991, the center was closed. In 2007, the center was turned into a human rights memorial and museum featuring Taiwan's democracy movement at the suggestion of Vice President Annette Lu. In early April 2009, the Council for Cultural Affairs changed the name of the site to Jing-Mei Human Rights Memorial and Cultural Park. New Taipei Industrial Park () is a metro station in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei, Taiwan, served by both the Taoyuan Metro and the Taipei Metro. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks.
