Dany Bédar
Dany Bédar is a francophone Québécois singer from Val-d'Or in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec, Canada.Élise Giguère"DANY BÉDAR : LE FRUIT DE SON RÉCENT SUCCÈS" ''Voir'', February 17, 2005. At the age of 19, Bédar moved to Montreal, where he played bass guitar with the local band La Chicane from 1999 to 2007, quickly demonstrating his talents as a composer with "Tu m'manques," which earned three Félix Awards and one Juno Award. Bèdar was the bass player for the group Sex Solution, along with follower members, Richard Gibouleau (percussionist) and Karl Coderre (singer/guitarist). Bédar launched his solo career in 2002. He has also written for several artists, including La Chicane, Boom Desjardins, Marie-Chantal Toupin, Nolwenn Leroy, Annie Villeneuve, and Marc Dupre. He also had a bilingual (French/English) hit with Joel Kroeker entitled "Déjà Vu". Val-d'Or
Val-d'Or (, , ; "Golden Valley" or "Valley of Gold") is a city in Quebec, Canada with a population of 32,752 inhabitants according to the Canada 2021 Census. The city is located in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region near La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve. History Gold was discovered in the area in 1923. The name of the town is French for "Valley of Gold." While gold is still mined in the area today, base metals, such as copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), and lead (Pb) have become increasingly important resources. The ore is usually found in volcanic rocks that were deposited on the sea floor over 2.7 billion years ago. They are referred to as volcanic-hosted (or volcanogenic) massive sulphide deposits ( VMS). The city is known for its vast parks, cycle tracks, and forests. Quebec Music
Like many cosmopolitan cities, Quebec is a home for all genres of music. From folk music to hip hop, music has always played an important role in Quebecer culture. In the 1920s and '30s singer/songwriter Madam Bolduc performed comedic songs in a folk style with Irish influences. Juno Awards Of 2005
The Juno Awards of 2005 were held 3 April at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba and were hosted by comedian Brent Butt. Avril Lavigne and k-os won three awards each, while Billy Talent and Feist (band), Feist won 2 apiece. Nominations were announced 7 February 2005. The Tragically Hip were this year's Canadian Music Hall of Fame recipient. Dan Aykroyd was originally scheduled to present this honour, but inexplicably cancelled several days before the awards ceremony. Sarah Harmer presented the Hall of Fame award in his place. Both Aykroyd and Harmer have ties to the Kingston, Ontario community in which The Tragically Hip are based. Neil Young was scheduled to appear at these awards, based on a promise that he would attend if the ceremonies were held in Winnipeg. Joel Kroeker
Joel Kroeker is a Canadian singer/songwriter. During his musical career, he was signed to the True North Records music label. Kroeker is also a specialized ethnomusicologist and a registered clinical counsellor, an accredited music therapist and a Zürich-trained Jungian analyst. He is of Mennonite heritage. He has released two official albums ''Melodrama'' (2004) and ''Closer to the Flame'' (2007) in addition to an earlier independent album release called ''Naive Bohemian'' (1999).
