Dante Jones
Dante Delaneo Jones (born March 23, 1965) is a former linebacker in the NFL who played for the Chicago Bears from 1988 to 1994 and Denver Broncos in 1995. As a Sooner, Jones was the 1987 Orange Bowl MVP. As a senior Jones was an All Big 8 selection, Big 8 defensive player of the year and consensus All-American at linebacker in 1987. Jones came in 3rd in the Butkus award voting. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). Fumble
A fumble in gridiron football occurs when a player who has possession and control of the ball loses it before being downed (tackled), scoring, or going out of bounds. By rule, it is any act other than passing, kicking, punting, or successful handing that results in loss of ball possession by a player. A fumble may be forced by a defensive player who either grabs or punches the ball or butts the ball with their helmet (a move called "tackling the ball").
