Danny Mason
Danny Mason, Jr. (born October 14, 1990) is a former gridiron football inside linebacker and defensive lineman. He played in the Indoor Football League for the Texas Revolution and the Colorado Ice. He played college football at Texas A&M-Commerce, where he was named an All-American. He has also been a member of the Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, Calgary Stampeders, and Ottawa Redblacks. Early life Mason was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and attended high school at Shawnee High School, where he was a four-year member of both the varsity basketball and football teams. He was first-team all-conference and helped lead Shawnee High to its first state playoff appearance in school history. He was selected to participate in the annual East-West High School football All Star game his senior year. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). The Colorado Crush were an arena football team based in Denver, Colorado. They began play as a 2003 Arena Football League expansion team. The Crush played in the Central Division of the American Conference until the Arena Football League suspended operations in 2009. They were last coached by Mike Dailey and owned by a coalition of Denver sports figures led by John Elway. Negotiations with a Denver ownership group (known not to be the Elway group) were underway for a future AFL expansion franchise in Denver, but it is unclear whether or not it will use the Crush branding or that of the Denver Dynamite, an earlier AFL team.
