Danny Greaves (footballer)
Daniel Thomas Greaves (born 31 January 1963) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. After retiring as a player, Greaves became a football manager, and managed Witham Town. Career Playing career After graduating from Tottenham Hotspur's youth team, Greaves began his senior career with Southend United, making 49 appearances in the Football League between 1981 and 1984. He then spent a season with Cambridge United, making four further appearances in the League, before playing non-League football with Chelmsford City. Coaching career After retiring as a player, Greaves became a football manager, and managed Witham Town for a spell. In 2015, he became assistant manager to Steve Tilson at C&K Basildon Ladies F.C. Jimmy Greaves
James Peter Greaves (20 February 1940 – 19 September 2021) was an English professional footballer who played as a forward. Greaves is regarded as one of England’s best ever players. He is England's fifth-highest international goalscorer (44 goals), Tottenham Hotspur's highest ever goalscorer (266 goals), the highest goalscorer in the history of English top-flight football (357 goals), and also scored more hat-tricks (six) for England than anyone else. He finished as the First Division's top scorer in six seasons and came third in the 1963 Ballon d'Or rankings. He is also a member of the English Football Hall of Fame. Greaves began his professional career at Chelsea in 1957, and played in the following year's FA Youth Cup final. He scored 124 First Division goals in just four seasons before being sold on to Italian club A.C. Milan for £80,000 in April 1961. Steve Tilson
Stephen Brian Tilson (born 27 July 1966) is an English football manager and former player, he is currently the manager of Heybridge Swifts. Tilson is best known for his time in charge of Southend United, where he was in charge for seven years, overseeing two promotions and later two relegations. In 2014, he was voted Southend United's greatest ever player by fans. Playing career Born in Wickford, Essex Tilson began his footballing career with non-league sides Basildon United, Bowers United and Witham Town before being signed by then Southend manager David Webb. The Football League
The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League.
