Danny Garcia (outfielder)
Daniel R. Garcia (born April 29, 1954) is a former professional baseball player, coach, scout, and executive. He played for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball (MLB) during the 1981 season. Career Danny is a Cuban-American raised in Queens, New York, Garcia studied cognitive behavioral psychology at Bernard M. Baruch College. He was a bat boy for the 1973 National League Champion New York Mets and a former member of the 1974 National Baseball Congress Champion Alaska Goldpanners baseball team. Drafted as an outfielder by the KC Royals in the 11th round of the 1975 Major League Baseball draft. He played in the minor leagues for seven seasons before reaching the major leagues in 1981. In 862 minor league games compiled 862 hits, a .292 batting average with 200 stolen bases. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. As an outfielder, they normally play behind the six players located in the field. By convention, each of the nine defensive positions in baseball is numbered. The outfield positions are 7 (left field), 8 (center field) and 9 (right field). These numbers are shorthand designations useful in baseball scorekeeping and are not necessarily the same as the squad numbers worn on player uniforms. Australian Baseball League (1989-1999)
The Australian Baseball League (ABL) is a professional baseball league in Australia. The league is governed by the Australian Baseball Federation (ABF). It uses the same name as a now-defunct competition held during the 1990s, and though it shares some history of the original league with the Claxton Shield awarded to winners of both competitions, it is considered to be a separate competition. Because the ABL's season takes place from November to February, the ABL is one of baseball's recognised winter leagues (although it is summer in Australia when the season takes place), where minor-league prospects in North America are often assigned as an English-speaking alternative to the primary Spanish-speaking Latin America-based winter leagues. Brisbane Bandits (1989-1998)
The Brisbane Bandits are a professional baseball team in Brisbane, Queensland that plays in the Australian Baseball League and is one of the six founding teams of the league. From the 2010/11 season till the 2012/13 season their home ballpark was the Brisbane Exhibition Ground, the ground which the old Brisbane Bandits played at for the majority of their nine-year tenure. As of the start of the 2013/14 the Bandits home ground is Holloway Field in Newmarket. In the inaugural season, Paul Gonzalez was announced as the GM, replacing Kim Jessop as the previous GM with the Queensland Rams.
