Danny Cullen
Danny Cullen (born 1987/8) is a hurler. He plays for Setanta, the Donegal county team and the Ireland national team. He has won three Nicky Rackard Cups and represented Ireland against Scotland in the Shinty-Hurling International Series. Playing career Club and college Cullen's grandfather, Danny Snr, was a founder of Setanta in 1979. He (the grandson) won a Donegal Senior Hurling Championship in 2017. Setanta followed this with an Ulster Junior Club Hurling Championship, also in 2017. He won another Donegal SHC in 2019, scoring 0–1 in the final. Cullen has coached under-age teams for his club. He played for NUI Galway. Inter-county Cullen made his debut for Donegal at the age of 16. He has also captained his county. He was part of a delegation to Croke Park who staged a sit-in as part of their effort to free Donegal manager Eamonn Campbell from suspension for the 2009 Lory Meagher Cup final against Tyrone. Setanta Hurling Club (Donegal)
Setanta Hurling Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located near Killygordon, County Donegal, Ireland. The club is solely concerned with the game of hurling. Shinty–Hurling International Series
The Shinty–Hurling International Series is a sports competition played annually between the Ireland national hurling team (selected by the Gaelic Athletic Association) and Scotland national shinty team (selected by the Camanachd Association). The series is conducted according to the rules of shinty–hurling, which is a hybrid sport consisting of a mixture of rules from the Scottish sport of shinty and the Irish sport of hurling. Seán McVeigh
Seán McVeigh (born 1990/91) is a dual player. He plays Gaelic football for St Eunan's, as well as, formerly, hurling for the Donegal county team. McVeigh is from Letterkenny. He made his inter-county debut at the age of 16, away to Longford in the 2007 National Hurling League. He played for the full game and scored at Croke Park when Donegal won the Lory Meagher Cup in 2011. He has also scored in the National Hurling League and Nicky Rackard Cup. In 2012, he won the Donegal Senior Football Championship with his club team, scoring in the final as well. He was named on the Nicky Rackard 'Champion XV' in 2012, to formally be awarded at that year's All Stars Banquet. He scored a goal in the final of the 2013 Nicky Rackard Cup as Donegal defeated Roscommon. His goal was an exceptional solo effort. 2020 Nicky Rackard Cup Final
The 2020 Nicky Rackard Cup Final was played at Croke Park in Dublin on 22 November 2020. It was contested by Donegal and Mayo. Donegal won the competition for a third time, becoming the first team to achieve this. Mickey McCann was manager. Sean McVeigh was captain. 2018 Nicky Rackard Cup
The 2018 Nicky Rackard Cup was the 14th staging of the Nicky Rackard Cup hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 2005. It was the fourth tier of senior inter-county hurling as of 2018. The competition began on Saturday 12 May 2018 and ended on Saturday 23 June 2018. Derry were the 2017 champions, beating Armagh in the final. Both teams were promoted to the 2018 Christy Ring Cup as a result of the restructuring of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship of 1997 (known for sponsorship reasons as the Guinness Hurling Championship 1997) was the 111th staging of Ireland's premier hurling competition. Clare won the championship, beating Tipperary 0-20 to 2-13 in the final at Croke Park, Dublin.
