Danny Clark (baseball)
Daniel Curren Clark (January 18, 1894 – May 23, 1937) was a backup infielder/outfielder in Major League Baseball who played between 1922 and 1927 for the Detroit Tigers (1922), Boston Red Sox (1924) and St. Louis Cardinals (1927). Listed at , 167 lb., Clark batted left-handed and threw right-handed. He was born in Meridian, Mississippi. In a three-season career, Clark was a .277 hitter (161-for-582) with five home runs and 93 RBI in 245 games, including 75 runs, 36 doubles, eight triples, five stolen bases, and a .360 on-base percentage. Following his majors career, he played in the Texas and Three-Eye leagues. After his baseball career ended, Clark became an oil dealer, dying in his hometown of Meridian at age 43 from tertiary neural syphilis. Danny Lee "Nitro" Clark (born May 21, 1964) is an American athlete, television personality, author, actor, and producer. He is best known for his role as gladiator Nitro on the TV show '' American Gladiators''. He is also a health and fitness expert and the creator of theGladiator Rock'n Run. Biography Clark began his career as an athlete, playing football for San Jose State University where he was a standout defensive lineman. Clark was also a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He then went on to play briefly for the Los Angeles Rams of the NFL, and in the Professional European League. Clark, a health and fitness expert, is best known from the game show '' American Gladiators'', having worked on both the original version and the revival; from 1989–92, and again in 1994–95, he was the gladiator Nitro; during the original show's final season, he was the analyst and co-host for the show. Daniel "Danny" Clark OAM (born 30 August 1951 in George Town, Tasmania, Australia) is a retired track cyclist and road bicycle racer from Australia, who was a professional rider from 1974 to 1997. He won five world championships and at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany, came second in the 1,000m time trial. Clark was often fastest finishing rider in six-day races, especially as Patrick Sercu slowed after the mid-1970s. Clark and the British rider, Tony Doyle, won many six-day races. Clark enjoyed the party atmosphere of the races, and continued to work in them as a Derny pacer after retiring. Biography Clark began cycling on a bike borrowed from a local enthusiast, which he used for three months before acquiring his eldest brother's semi-racer. He became one of the most successful riders in six-day racing in the 1970s and 1980s, winning 74 races, second to Patrick Sercu's 88. Danny Clark IV (born May 9, 1977) is a former American football linebacker. He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the seventh round of the 2000 NFL Draft. He played college football at Illinois. Clark has previously played for the Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans, New York Giants, and New Orleans Saints. Early years Clark was born in Blue Island, Illinois. He played quarterback and linebacker at Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills, Illinois where he was All-conference as a quarterback and linebacker.
