Daniyar Yeleussinov
Daniyar Maratovich Yeleussinov (born 13 March 1991) is a Kazakh professional boxer. As an amateur he competed at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, winning a gold medal in 2016. He also won gold medals at the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games; the 2013 World Championships; and silver at the 2015 World Championships. Amateur career Yeleussinov began boxing in 1999 and is trained by his father Marat Yeleussinov. Yeleussinov kickstarted his career with gold in the 2010 Asian Games, and enjoyed a remarkable 2013 when he triumphed in both the AIBA World Championships and the Asian Championships. Twice named the AIBA Elite Men’s Boxer of the Year, he takes inspiration from legendary figures including Serik Konakbayev, Bekzat Sattarkhanov, Oscar De La Hoya and Sugar Ray Leonard, and enjoys playing football, hockey and table tennis in his spare time. Serik Kerimbekuly Konakbaev ( kk, Серік Керімбекұлы Қонақбаев, ''Serık Kerımbekūly Qonaqbaev''; russian: Серик Керимбекович Конакбаев; born October 25, 1959 in Pavlodar, Kazakh SSR) is a retired Kazakhs, Kazakh amateur boxing, boxer, who represented the Soviet Union, USSR at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, Soviet Union. There he won the silver medal in the light welterweight division (– 63.5 kg), after being defeated in the final by Patrizio Oliva of Italy. Amateur boxing is a variant of boxing practiced at the collegiate level, at the Olympic Games, Pan American Games and Commonwealth Games, as well as many associations. Amateur boxing bouts are short in duration, comprising three rounds of three minutes in men, and four rounds of two minutes in women, each with a one-minute interval between rounds. Men's senior bouts changed in format from four two-minute rounds to three three-minute rounds on January 1, 2009. Professional Boxer
Professional boxing, or prizefighting, is regulated, sanctioned boxing. Professional boxing bouts are fought for a purse that is divided between the boxers as determined by contract. Most professional bouts are supervised by a regulatory authority to guarantee the fighters' safety. Most high-profile bouts obtain the endorsement of a sanctioning body, which awards championship belts, establishes rules, and assigns its own judges and referees. The 2008 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships were held in Guadalajara, Mexico, from October 31 to November 1, 2008. It was the first edition of the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships which had taken over from the Junior World Championship. AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships
The IBA Youth World Boxing Championships and the IBA Junior World Boxing Championships are amateur boxing competitions organised by the International Boxing Association (amateur), International Boxing Association (IBA), the sport's governing body, for "Youth" competitors—ages 17 or 18 years old (U19), and for "Junior" competitors—ages 15 or 16 years old (U17), respectively.
